Prendo's boots
I was in the Upper West too for that game. Pretty hairy when Manu fans came to join us - where and how they got there I don't know. Great game but the memory that lingers was the horses coming on the pitch from the corner between the Kop and the North. We had gone 3-1 up and the whole place seemed to go crazy. I thought the Man U supporters were trying to get the game abandoned. Agree with Glynnb - Upper West was a great place to see the game - remember seeing us whip Chelsea 6-1 from there - John Ritchie hat-trick?? Yeah Upper West for me too...what a mental afternoon it was...there were a few skuffles around us in there too...when we went 3-1 up all the Owls fans were obviously going barmy and you could see pockets of trouble all over the shop...couldnt see the Lepp obviously but the kop was rammed...that match and the Notts County away and Cardiff home games were the highlights of a dismal season!!... NYCOWL
The thing I've always wondered about it: No internet or mobile phones, how the f*ck did they coordinate 20000 fans to get there early? Or did they just do it every away game?
Rogerwyldesmullet
A) They took vast amounts everywhere that season but add to that B) Sheffield is less than an hours travel from Manchester C) Hillsboro was big enough to cope with em - they knew they would get in. NYCOWL
I still find it impressive. They would have had to get up early, find time for some boozing and STILL be on the train for 11am It's like 20,000 people sh*t the bed.
