Mcgugan

I still don't understand why there wasn't more interest in him earlier and why Watford want rid? He has been really great for us and would be veeeeery disappointed to miss out on his signature.

Summer should be exciting this year whatever happens, Cue "Official Summer Transfer Megathread".

Already said many times now. A agreement is already in place. Fee and 3 year contract agreed.

Now stop worrying.

Can't wait too see more players of a similar standard coming through the door in the close season

It's a good time to be a Wednesday fan

The reason we (Watford) don't want him is because for us, although he put in some decent performances, he was wasteful and greedy.  He'd shoot wildly 20 feet over the bar instead of sliding someone else in.

The biggest problem though was that he didn't take kindly to being dropped to the bench.  Him and Lloyd Dyer formed a little rebellion where they thought they should pick the team rather than the manager.  A troublemaker who thinks he's big time.

He's a fairly good player though and good with free kicks (although we have better dead ball specialists) - should be worth around 10 goals per season.

Since we got him for nothing, we'll happily take 1 million for him.

When you fail to go up this year and next and we go up you'll wish he was picking your team

Think under MM we would get players like Mcgugan on loan, get them fit and in the shop window and they would move on to somewhere else like Forest, Leicester or Blackburn. But really feels like Mcgugan is already 99% a done deal at end of the season.

Feels good to be competing with clubs for players at top end of championship for a change.

I hope you're right, as he has the potential to be our next John Sheridan.

He's top end Championship proven quality. Lewis McGugan is exactly the type of player we need, we know at Championship level that he will be a 7 on a bad day and he's capable of a 10 every so often.

Tom Lees is of similar quality.

Kieren Westwood is a 10 most games.

This is the difference between us and the top 6 this season.

Many of our players still havent found consistency at this level, some won't and will probably drop out of the Championship.

If we are to realistically close the considerable gap to the top 6 then we need to sign players who have performed at this level before.

Taking gambles on the likes of Helan, Dielna, Kelhar, Lee, Mccabe, Corry, Maghoma, Maguire, Nuhiu, May, Bus, Vermijl, Melo will not close the gap.

Only maybe 2 or 3 will stay at this level for the entirety of their careers and although it may sound harsh I doubt any of them will play at the next level up.

Under Milan we have had to operate like this because of budgets etc but this is one change that will see us catapult into that top 6, the Premiership hopefulls.

Yes these players will see an increased wage bill and in some cases a transfer fee having to be paid.

Until we adopt this approach then we will only be a mid table Championship team.

The risk with how we have been operating is if you bring in too many players that won't make it at this level you will find yourself in the bottom 3.

We will be able to tell whether Mr Chansiri's intentions are promotion by the players we are looking at, see above.

We dont need anymore 'maybes'.
