How do we know that the aim of this move isn't to discover if our existing players would benefit from the supply an out and out winger will offer?

Hopefully it is, it's certainly what we've been calling for We really need to know by the summer whether our strikers can cut it in this league or not Cannot contemplate going into next season with question marks above all our front players

And what if we have talked to Soton and agreed if he does well, we can have him for next season? Nobody knows

If he does well and we get him next year then it's anything but a pointless transfer, that's one position filled.

Stop moaning about not getting in the playoffs in a season where we are absolutely nowhere near ready to go up.

He's going to have to perform pretty well in the remaining games for us and SG to know that he's a definate starter for next season. Then we will have to wait to see what Southampton feel about it.

He's unproven at this level, we need to move away from lads who have never done it at this level, this is mainly why we are so inconsistent.

If we continue down this route we will never progress.

He might be unproven at this level but if he is the best available I'll take him. We need options out wide because we haven't got any and our existing wide men aren't really doing very well consistently.

If the lad does well he will enable us to see if our existing strikers have potential if they get good service.

If we carry on doing what we are already doing we will learn nothing, try something different, you never know what might happen.

This is why Im frustrated, we have been happy having no wingers for most of the season, this should have been sorted in the summer.

Are you telling me that this is/was a plan all along?

'This season we won't play with wingers and see how the strikers get on with no service'

'Then for the last few games we will see how they play with wingers and service'

We have been so short sighted under Milan.

Why on earth would anyone with any sense expect Maguire, Maghoma and Helan to create enough from wide areas over a full season?

Also central midfield options of Hutchinson, Lee, Semedo and Coke were expected to create.

We 'the fanbase' are still wondering why we havent scored many goals.

On top of this none of our strikers have scored regular goals at this level, thats pretty important too.

We have survived this season because of our early away form which was us setting up not to lose.

Our squad is so unbalanced and missing so much that we are lucky that Blackpool and Millwall are much worse

I think the answer to your question could be money. MM wasnt prepared to spend it> Mr C it seems is. Maybe players like this lad were just too expensive to even get in on loan before? The prem is paying stupid wages after all. And would there be a point to bringing in a good youngster who we then have to send back? People on here are still harping on about Ben10 three years on. Maybe now we can look at these players with a view to them being realistic signings?

Thank you Dobbo,At last someone on here is talking some sense, god help us if we manage to make the top six near the end of next season then suddenly lose a couple like Derby just have, our fans would completely meltdown.

This is going to be our best chance for years to progress, but if you think its going to be easy I suggest you take up another sport.
