Owl In Black
Bents goal should of stood. And yellow for westy. Poor refereeing - would only have been highlighted had they not scored the pen. Might not have changed the outcome of the match but highlights poor refereeing decisions costing us as we'll now be without westwood for tuesday

Saxondale
Must admit it looked a red at the game. Haven't seen any highlights yet though.

Maddogbob
Looked a red to me. We have a more than capable replacement in Kirkland.

Leaping Lannys Perm
Having watched the highlights I am inclined to agree. Also looked offside. But at the game, I didn't even realise they had put the ball in the net. That was how decisively and quickly the pen was given. I was just watching for the red card. I don't even remember the Derby fans reacting to the "goal".

horny owl
Let's hope Kirkland takes this opportunity to shine because let's face it he's not going go to get many chances to get into the first team now. Westwood will be massively missed
mike312
Also zayatte was on the line so he wasn't the last man, a yellow would have been more appropriate. Looked offside to me to although difficult to tell.
themaskedowl
So...do we appeal? I know somebody said SG had said no but, I didn't hear that.

Looked offside to me to although difficult to tell. Last man is totally irrelevant. Nothing in rules about last man. It is totally dependent on whether it was a clear goal scoring opportunity or not. Always causes me confusion about other peoples complete lack of logic in evaluating last man in any event. The last defender brings down a striker who still has a goalkeeper to beat. The goalkeeper can use his hands and is still quite an obstacle to beat, everybody goes the defender is the last man. Striker goes around a goalkeeper and only has a defender to beat. The defender cannot use is hands and is thereby quite easy to beat, people claim the keeper isn't the last man because of the defender.
mattitheowl
Terrible decision. Should have let the play go and the goal stand, no need for even a booking. And if you give the penalty, it's not a red. Add into that he was offside and it just shows how poor refs are in this league. You only have to watch the other highlights to see the total inconsistency of officiating across the league. Just not bothered...

killamarshtrekowl
Can somebody please tell me how Westwood denied a clear goal scoring opportunity when they actually put the ball in the net? Shocking refereeing!

Correct, but when was the last time you saw a ref play an advantage and go back and send someone off. They barely do it with bookings! Just not bothered... The Hoppy Hopper
I didn't think the referee had the option to play advantage for a penalty? Edited February 22, 2015 by EM-Owl
