Nuhiu has played 60 games for us plus....May has played no where near that many........you'd be better of not responding than making things up.......plus coke is infinitely better than Nuhiu (Maghoma slightly so!)

coke better than nuhiu? Ok.

By the way, in the 60 game criteria.

Reeves played nowhere near 60 games for us, probably 20 at most. Fortunately!

Steven Haslam played a lot, the wimpiest player I've seen - unsurprisingly Danny Wilson's bizarre decision to play him in central midfield in the Premier League coincided with relegation.

west scored over 60 goals in the top level and over 130 in his career ,big dave will have to find his shooting boots pretty sharpish to match that .......having said that west was hopeless for us with his lazy attitude and lack of effort something that nuhui cant be accused of.

But that was top level pre premiership and pre foreign invasion.

West would get nowhere near the Prem in today's day and age.

Neither were/are up to much.

I always think it's wierd when folk pick out players that were with us in the to flight as being worse than those that were with us in the third tier. I very much doubt those players were really worse.

Plus, a list of about 40 worse strikers than Nuhiu since we dropped out of the Premier League (let alone every other position, ever!) has been given on here.

We've had half a dozen in this season and Attey is still our top scorer by a clear 43%.

As he's been one of our most effective players this season (along with Westwood, Lees, Loovens, Semedo & McGugan), the constant bashing by some is bizarre.

Give it a rest FFS!

It's big daves style that makes him look so poo poo

The way he runs etc

When actually he's not that bad ! Many worse around

He's not good enough for a promotion push no way but could be on the bench and do a job coming on in games

League goals -

West 8 in 45 games, 5.63 games per goal (top flight)

Nuhiu 12 in 68 games, 5.66 games per goal (second tier)

Not much in it, they're both rubbish at scoring, although in West's favour he was rubbish at a higher level. I think West edges it  scoring wise though with a couple of Nuhiu's goals being from the spot, and his own famous effort against Luton is still in orbit at a similar trajectory to Simonsen's.

Comparing the old top flight of the mid to late 80s to football nowadays is just not possible in my opinion, football has changed so much, a modern day Colin West would struggle at L1 llevel nevermind PL, football has improved right thought the divisions.

That's true

But same could be said about Nuhiu and many other of todays players too

Can anyone imagine Nuhiu on the end of a Steve Bould tackle?

Nuhiu is deceptive, he's a lot worse than he looks

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

I can't imagine many players being okay on the end of a Steve Bould tackle, past or present.

He's never going to be a prolific striker, but does a good job at linking play around 40-20 yards from goal - something which is vital for Wednesday considering the sheer dearth of creativity in midfield (an area which of far more pressing concern in the summer transfer window than our strikers). He also takes players out of the game which gives other members of the team more space to work in.

As long as you've got another striker along side him who'll play on the shoulder of the last defender and makes runs beyond him with a decent eye for goal, Nuhiu is absolutely fine.

Our performances and results with him in the team are far better than our performances and results without, which suggests he is doing something right.

Slightly off-topic, but here's a scary statistic in a similar vein...

Blackpool's current joint-top scorer this season is one Gary Madine with the princely total of three so far.

Think we can assume he's' played his last game for the club.

Saw West score a reyt diving header at Old Trafford one Weds night to get us a 1-1 draw...and Eustace was manager...and the crowd was only in the high 20 thousands...how weird!!!...we all cheered obviously and guffawed at the same tine...reckoned he'd tripped up and fell over as the ball came over!! He did score loads for Watford and Rangers tho...
