@owlstalk
The only crumb of comfort I'll take from that, would be the permanent signing of Lewis McGugan. Don't profess to know too much about Bus, but it's an awful lot of pressure on the lad to hit the ground running. We now know we cannot rely on any of our existing strikers, so this guy has to come in and start scoring the goals. Same was said about May (whilst our fans were greeting him as the new Messi) and look what happened Owlstalk Shop
canyoujust
We need pace as we currently have none if this Sergiu is not a quick striker I may scream!
mogbad
The new owners will want to see if they can work with SG & if he's got what it takes to take us further. They'll hopefully spend more in the summer when they've evaluated everything & determined where their money needs to be spent on the squad, stadium & other facilities. Guest PAUL.
If reports are to be believed, McGugan permanent and Vermilj loan. Correct.
Groundhopping Owl
I would take Maynard but he wouldn't be an amazing signing, he's barely done anything in nearly 3 years. Think some fans' views of him are distorted by the fact that he scored 2 at Hillsborough last year.
Eightace
Imo we don't have a prayer of going up so it would be stupid to bring in too many now. Get a few in and make sure we finish top ten and then next season bring in the missing pieces.
gurujuan
Same was said about May (whilst our fans were greeting him as the new Messi) and look what happened Exactly, May has been a disappointment, but things might have been different had we been able to bed him in slowly. Now it looks as if we are about to do the same with Bus

Guest davylowe
Palmer might be used as right side midfielder if we bring this Man U kid in
parkerowl
it's all about starting to build a promotion squad, if Mcgugan & vermilj are the first building blocks im fine with that, however if Gray goes untill the end of the season thinking Mcguire and Maghome are good enough he'll lose his job its as simple as that. S26 Owl
Not being funny but if we get mcgugan, then this Man U kid gets a decent performance out of Palmer like last year then we sign a winger on loan, I'd be happy
Guest wilyfox
Palmer can't cross for sheeet. Bumping him forward solves nothing.
waddleisgod
If there's a marquee signing I doubt Staton will know about it in fairness. I think if we do sign Lewis McGugon (especially perm) then that would class as a marquee signing for me! We would have laughed at the thought had someone sugested just a few months ago! S36 OWL
A winger is priority for me. we are going no where with McGuire ( who`s not a winger) and Maghoma.
Southie_Owl
If the new owners do want to bring their own manager in then so far today is what you would expect to happen. They wouldn't give him millions to spend
bigrbuk
I thought this as well....or the man utd kid may be used as a right winger..... Phil King / Nigel Worhtington. Two defensive players - worked ok.
