Kirkland Unhappy at Being Back Up 'Keeper

Recommended Posts

Heard and interview on Radio Sheffield this dinner time with Stuart Gray talking about how Kirkland is unhappy at being the back up 'keeper and then went on about him being an excellent professional and goal keeper etc and that he had told Kirkland to keep pushing for a place in the team and doing what he's doing...

Am i just being cynical or does anyone else think this is the start of the lube being squeezed out the tube for us being shafted when we sell Westwood in January?

It's either keeper who could be leaving from that I'd say

I hope we do sell Westwood for mega bucks. He's better than championship, and having a goalkeeper as our prized asset is stupid - it should always be your outfield attackers.

One of Westwood or Kirkland will inevitably be sold. Both signed on free contracts so an appropriate fee for either would be good business.

You can read into it what you will but it is really a nothing story. How many No. 2 keepers are going to say that they are happy just being a back up keeper?

2 million isn't enough...So you're probably right...

In general I'd agree with you but signing him for nothing and selling for £2m profit after a few months and after doing a good job for us is hard to condemn.

Well yeah, if you look at it like that it ain't so bad I guess.

Makes sense one of them will have to go in January.

If we have a small budget then can not justify paying good wages to two keepers. Have to cut your cloth accordingly, have one first team keeper backed up by a good young keeper. Bring in a loan if first team keeper is injured and you feel back up is not ready.

Forest can rounduns.

Westwood will get premier interest. Liverpool have been mentioned.

If Forest want him they can deal fryatt and money

the prem teams have been spunking money around for years on average players so they can definitely afford to pay a lot for Westwood. But knowing us we'll get peanuts.

Kirkland will be off in January , said before i think Westwood will be reluctant to move anywhere he isn't guaranteed first choice he's spent long enough as back up and wants ROI number 1 spot

Hope Westwood is not sold as most of the transfer money will not be reinvested in players.

You do know if we sell Westwood if will be for an undisclosed fee.

Yes we might think he is worth say over 2 million at least but what the club think/do is another matter.

We will sell him for peanuts, any decent offers from the clubs point of view and he will be off.

Please explain your chain of thought.   Without Westwood, we'd probably have at least 6 less points and be in our usual bottom 3 position for Xmas.
