Guest jaks6owl
Greater Manchester police are working in partnership with there South Yorkshire counterparts to ensure all travelling fans from Sheffield Wednesday have tickets only for there designated away supporters section of the stadium. Any fan in possession of Manchester City home supporters tickets will be ejected from the stadium and liable for criminal prosecution. With an allocation of just over 5400 given to the championship club for the Carling cup tie local authorities fear for outbursts of crowd trouble and supporter safety with a further 2000 anticipated to be situated in home areas. Fans travelling by rail from Sheffield will be met at stations in Manchester by British Transport Police where officers will be given powers to confiscate tickets where needed. I hope it kicks off now, classic police going over the top. Any trouble that occurs will be created by them treating fans like pitbulls.
Guest OWLSCHRIS
As said, how on earth are they going to find out if you are a City or Wednesday fan? It's your word against theirs, there's a high possibility of city fans that work or are at uni in Sheffield that will make their way up for the game. What are they going to do, stop everyone who gets off a train and rifle through their pockets for tickets to a football match? No chance I think they're expecting something that's not going to happen. Wednesday are hardly trouble causers let's be honest.
