03/04 just edges the 10/11 team out in the shittest wednesday team in my life time stakes. We just so dire it was incredible.

It was funny as both seasons we had a decent start then went off a cliff and recovered just in time to not be relegated to the 4th tier.

I hope we don't see those days again

The Ashurst era was particularly bad but maybe not as bad as some of the teams we've put out since 2000.

 

The Ashurst era was pretty decent compared to what had gone before it the previous couple of years , he cleared out some real cr@p and brought players like Tommy Tynan , Rodger Wylde , Jeff Johnson , Paul Bradshaw , Dennis Leman , Dave Rushbury , Richard Walden etc etc into the first team.

 

Ultimately not a resounding success , but left us in a much healthier state squad wise than what he found us in.

03/04 was our first season down in League One, right?

That was f*cking abject. We were an appalling side.

 

No way near as bad as the 75/76 side.  We had to win the last match to avoid the ignominy of fourth division football.
