How many fans do we have abroad and are YOU one of them ?

Recommended Posts

Living in Reno, Nevada, USA, been a Wednesdayite since watching Owls beat Spurs in 1960, my Dad's mate was pals with Bill Nicholson manager of Spurs (they were all from Scarborough and went to school together) so we got to go to the game, I had to support Wednesday just to make it interesting! The Owls won 2-1 and ended Spurs unbeaten run. We were 2nd in the league at the time.. The quality of my weekends have revolved around the Wednesday result ever since.. Very rarely get to see them live anymore but have the wins against Leeds, Barnsley and Reading saved on my DVR to revisit after a loss like they on Saturday!!

Do you think you could make it permanent?

Not sure Dave, that's what we are trying to find out. Hopefully being there for months instead of a couple of weeks should give us an idea if we could repatriate.

It's good to have that option. Not sure I could go back, despite the frickin cold and snow here

Not sure if I could go back either. If I did it would have to be somewhere remote like Cornwall.

That's kind of one of the things we are looking into. We have a place in Oxspring but we both like the "Escape to the Country" idea and will be looking around.

If we ever moved back it would be the same, somewhere in the country about 10-15 miles from the nearest town or city.

Go through Reno a couple of times each year on the way to San Jose. Always stop of at the Nugget Casino for the buffet. Strangely enough I was born just down the road from your dad in Bridlington.

Think we need to get a Western US Owls group going!

Å ibenik, Hrvatska. Playing 5-a-side in my Wednesday kit (shirt, shorts, socks), and wearing Wednesday pennant on my keys. Mostly everyone I know knows I'm a Wednesday fan, and it must be main reason why people here are more familiar with Wednesday then United.

After few drinks I tend to bother people with Sheridan, and how awesome he was. I showed THAT Luton goal to almost 100 people by now.

Btw. Heard about two other guys over here (city of under 40k people) who are Wednesday fans
