Wednesday vs Rangers - the Complete Head to Head

Recommended Posts

All 5 of them! Wondered how many time we had met over the years.  These are the meetings I can find. Anyone know of any others?  Interesting to note in 1935 we played 2 friendlies both home & away.  How would SYP coped with some of these numbers!

Not Rangers or Wednesday  but found this programme from one of the last annual Sheffield vs Glasgow intercity match which took place on 11th November 1959 at Hillsborough - obviously no cyclists around in those days as 11,728 were allowed to attend.  Match finished 1-1.

Neil Dewar from that 1931 match subsequently played for Wednesday arriving via Man Utd.

Wasn't there supposed to have been a Sheffield v Glasgow match played around that time when Jimmy Seed, the Sheffield (and Wednesday) captain sent off the referee? I've never been able to find out the circumstances or is it one of those apochryphal stories?
