Difference is we pay to watch. Jones is paid £300k ( just a guess) to pick players, motivate them and come up with the tactics.

He's the manager it's his job to know more than us. Plus we realised a lot quicker than him that Bothroyd was poo .

Bothroyd scored a hatful in this division as a striker a couple of seasons ago, yet Jones insisted on playing him out wide in the majority of his games.

 

Rodri had loads of potential which he showed flashes of, but wasn't given enough games by Jones to fulfil it.

Other thana Rodri, Bothroyd, Pecnik, COG, Batth, Wickham, Beevers, Mattock, Mayor, Sidibe, Taylor and Amado, Jones has got the majority of decisions bang on re players this season.

The decision to bring in Borthroyd wasn't a bad one all things considered; a player Jones has worked with before and a player whom he has managed to get good performances out of at this level.

 

However, where Jones can and should be criticised re: Bothroyd, is his refusal to drop him despite the the fact it was evidently clear it wasn't working out around 4 games into his loan spell. Instead he persisted with him for 3 months, while better performers were relegated to the bench.

Managers do have all sorts of advantages on fans though. Scouting, talking to players before signing them, canvassing other pros on reputations.

Loan players of Barca / Prem pedigree will excite fans. Managers are in a privileged position to put more information and knowledge into their judgments.

Rodri and Bothroyd are players that didn't fit in with with Jones' tactics at the time of our downward spiral.

Hardly the fans fault.

We had no plan B, the buck rests at Jones' door for that.

both players have undoubted technical ability. Rodi left because he failed to settle into the culture, and he ended up the scape goat for our goal leakage throghout the autumn.

 

Bothroyd again, was the right player at the wrong time. The fact that he's a wee wee tail off the pitch is as irrelavent as madine.

 

This season has been like a bad experiment in terms of tactics, players and style - we have come up woefully short, and the fans aren't to blame.

He came before I joined this forum but I Knew Bothroyd was lame from the off. He had one good season at Cardiff. That's it. He's been a passenger at every other club he's played for and has had a poor goal tally to boot. My mate is a QPR fan, he told me that QPR fans called him a lazy sod, but he thought he'd do a job for us. Obviously he was wrong. I knew nothing about Rodri, so can't comment.

In which case the fans and DJ got it right. Bothroyd was the answer

and took the place of a player who was on form and had done nothing wrong.
