What games then? Last week when he....... erm scored?

He was absolutely diabolical last week. The ball fell to his feet with no defenders around him while in the six yard box. He'd've had to try quite hard to miss. Other than that he was about as bad as a professional footballer can be without having to admit to being paid by the opposition.

He scores goals tho, that's his job. I agree he dosent do much but he's one of them players that just scores

needs service and will score, has already shown that.

needs a big man along side him tho in a flat 4-4-2, a

good side would get 20+ out of him.

blaming him for this defeat is embarassing

"Supposed to be a goalscorer" He scores. Check mate

it would be handy if he joined in with the rest of the game though wouldn't it. Can we really afford to be the worst team in the league AND play with 10 men?

We needed him to score today. Didn't turn up.

1 in 3 so far.

Several of those goals didn't require any skill, and were pure luck.

His overall contribution is poor.

He also missed perhaps the most important chance he's had at this club today - something a 'goalscorer' shouldn't.

Usual reactionary bullsh!t.

I'd say with the service we've given our forwards over the season he's done very well. Crucial goals against Charlton (2 points), Brighton, Blackburn (oh sorry, a penalty), Palace (2 points) and last week (1 point).

Goal scoring aside for a sec, it's his getting caught offside all the time that gets on my baps.

And yes, he did spurn a great opportunity yday. I'd expect a prem striker to bury that.

When he scores the argument gets very simple for some people - he scores, so that's it he's brilliant. It doesn't matter that he's diabolical other than that, and that his goals would've been scored by almost any other player (easiest chance ever for his last goal, penalty before that... and the one where he kicked sliced it back onto his own face!)

Yet when he doesn't score, there's an excuse. Sorry, that's rubbish. If he's there to score, when the ball is at your feet on the six yard box, you should do just that. To drive it straight at the keeper for the first attempt was not ideal, but at least on target. To slice the rebound high and wide was just pants.

It wouldn't matter so much if we were capable of creating loads of chances, but we're clearly not. Not with 10 men anyway. So we need all 11 to have some sort of contribution in open play.

Penalties and tap-ins don't count. Everyone knows that!
