The last three games

The last three games have been three difficult away trips on the bounce right in the middle of a relegation battle.

 

Would you have taken a win, a draw and a loss before we played them.

 

I would.

 

4 points from three tough away trips is not bad.

 

I just wish the win had been against Leeds.

 

Hopefully we will be safe by Saturday night.

Yep. Also, if we win and Wolves or Peteborough lose, only goal difference will come into it - pboros being better than ours and wolves worse.

If we win on saturday then should Barnsley lose they cant catch us. If Peterborough, Wolves or Huddersfield lose then they can still catch us points wise.Hudders goal difference is -25 and will be at least -26. that would require an 18 goal swing in the last 2 games for them to overtake us. wolves would be on -11 at least so a 3 or 4 goal swing would see them overtake us if they won both and we lost both remaining games, definitely possible. Peterborough would have at best -8, same as our worst could be should we win 1-0. So if we lose our last 2 and they win theirs then they would overhaul us.

 

Hudders and barnsley are looking favourites to finish below us. A win for us and losses for them all but guarantees it. At least 1 of them will finis below us in this situation as they play each other so cant both get maximum points from their remaining 3 games.

 

Our saving grace could be that there are more than those 2 teams below us so even if they both win 2 and draw 1 then one of the other teams at the bottom could get a freak result and lose.
