jamthesun
I've been thinking for a while that because there are so many games in the run in where the teams around us play each other that we probably don't need too many more points to be realistically if not mathematically safe. So to test my theory I went to the BBC predictor and filled out the results as follows. We lose all remaining matched 1-0. All the teams below us win all their remaining matches 1-0 unless they are playing another team currently below us in which case the points are shared with 1-1 draws. All matches between teams currently above us end in 1-1 draws also. The result is that we are relegated second bottom with 53. Huddersfield come down too with 55 losing out on goal difference from Birmingham and Derby who find themselves down there having lost to the teams currently below us. On the basis of this admittedly unscientific analysis I declare that 3 more points will see us safe. Tonight would be nice!
Dronfield Blue
Interesting, not helping the nerves though.
Ash_SWFC
and the chances of that happening?
jamthesun
Well f'all obviously but it does suggest to me that too many teams have to have too good a run in for us to go down and not many more points will do it for us.
Guest bungledinho
Can't see dingles or wolves getting anything tonight. Think hudders V b.burn will be a draw too

rob_owl_92
I did that predictor earlier today (anything to prevent me from doing any work ). I had us losing to Blackpool and Pboro and beating Ipswich and Boro on the last day. Had us finishing 13th, above Leeds on goal difference and Town and the Dingles going down with Bristol. Slightly optimistic but not completely unrealistic.

alexwatson12
I prefer blind optimism. If things go our way tonight, we could be up to 11th!

jamthesun
Well yeah it's great TBH. I sense however that you're not really buying into the whole nerve jangling, straw clutching panic that others on here favour during the run-in.

jamthesun
Wow people really do like looking on the bad points these days have some postivity for god sake The point of looking at was that I think it's very unlikely that we'll go down. I'm still thinking a mid table finish is on the cards.
