Swfc Vs Blackburn Rovers - Polar Opposites

Recommended Posts

Just got me thinking about our next game against blackburn on Saturday.  We both sit in the table with 47 points having played 39 games each.  However a year ago they were playing the likes of man ure, chelsea and co, whilst we were playing teams like yeovil and oldham in league 1.

Blackburn have been in freefall, whilst we have been on the rise.

They have been sacking their managers, MM kept faith with DJ.

Blackburn fans hate their owners the venky's, whilst our fans don't hate the shrewd MM who saved our club.

They have spent a lot of money, Rhodes an 8 million signing, while we get freebies and temporary loan deals.

They are pretty much fooked, whilst we will be alright.

Here's to a MASSIVE 3 points to us on Saturday.

Blackburn - us 10 year ago

i dont remember us spending 8million on a striker back then .....blackburn are a classic example of a smallish club with no great fanbase being a richmans plaything ,fine when the richmans a fan like walker was but not so good when you get foreign investors who,s only ambition is to make money out of them but not having a clue how to do it.

Guest Foxhill Owl

If Blackburn go down is Rhodes worth a cheeky £1mm bid?

Rhodes have proved a lot of people wrong 20+ goals in a struggling side , 8mil is a lot but he has produced the goods .

Also Blackburn fans should never has hounded kean out they were 5th with a game in hand .

£8m these days is probably the equivalent to us spending £3m on De Bilde.

And I think the Venky's have done a treat for their own business - who had heard of them or their product before they started clowning about with Blackburn? As they say, all publicity is good publicity!

Just read that they're losing roughly £2 million a month, and that is WITH the parachute payments.

Christ somebody has a lot to answer to at that club- they've taken a stable, solid club and turned them into a financial disaster and (sadly) a bit of a laughing stock.

Blackburn fans must be embarrassed but what happened to they club over last couple of years.

Hope we take advantage on Saturday. Think Blackburn has better players then us but we have a better team if that makes sense.

I wouldnt cry in your beer too much over the blackburn fans

theres a hard core of about 8 or 9 k and after that its mainly plastics who surprisingly started following them in the early 90's(just as the money came in), round here they seem to be floating off back to supporting man ure via a quick stop at blackpool for their one season in the sun

careful what they wish for and all that....ruddy moaning lancs

There on the way down but Wots all that nonsense about us been on the rise

the point I was trying to make BG is if blackburn suffer back to back relegations into the lower leagues of football, as opposed to us getting out of league 1.  Also whilst we were all bouncing against wycombe on final day of last season, blackburn meanwhile were protesting against kean and venky.  I would rather be us than in their situation.
