Guest JDS12
My first post so please go easy on me haha Thought Jones' selected formation for the team and players he chose were appalling today. I know the idea was probably to keep it tight and ****** a goal, as we did but it just didn't work. I don't think he should have dropped Madine who played really well against Barnsley, and shouldn't of gone 4-5-1. I know Howard is a good target man, but Madine won almost everything against Barnsley, even though i wouldnt say he's a target man. He still has room for improvement, just like everybody but i really hope we keep him as i believe we have a good player in the waiting on our hands. No idea why he started Pugh on the right. He's too slow and i don't believe he offers much at all. I'm grateful for what he did when he came in as cover for Reda, but i don't believe Jones should select him for that position. I thought today he maybe should of stuck JJ there instead, and had Madine up top with Lita or even put Maguire on the the wing, with JJ on the other as i don't think Helan has been too consistent as of late. Not too sure why JJ came off, but he was the best player on the pitch at the time. Bristol City couldn't deal with him and he took his goal really well, which i thought he might of missed. I also believe he shouldn't have took off Coke for Semedo. I see why the change was made as we wanted to grind out the win but the midfield couldn't create anything, and i think Coke is the best centre creative midfielder we had available today. Towards the end, everytime we got the ball, it was just smashed up and it kept coming back at us. It was only a matter of time. I think he should of put Semedo on for Pugh, and moved Coke to the right and Semedo in the middle. Anybody know where the referee got the 5minutes injury time from in the second half btw? Sorry for the kind of negative post, but i just feel disappointed. I don't think we should get rid of Jones and i still believe that we will still stay up. Hopefully if we do, we can push on next season and start to play some more of the attractive football we played when Jones was first appointed. SallyCinnamon
Conceding in stoppage time and with those around us winning it is gonna feel horrible. However, 4 points from 6 over the Easter period isn't bad going. I've always said win your home games and pick up a point away from home, and that is what we've done. Unfortunately we need more than that cos every bleedin side around us keeps picking up results. Cannot call it at the moment, i'm worried because if things don't go our way tomorrow (lets face it they won't) then we are back in the relegation zone. Next week at Blackburn is crucial and if we don't pick up three points there, I really think we'll go down.
Weshallovercome
Thank for the insight JDS, The added time thingy......there were 6 substitutions x 30 seconds each, plus the 2 minutes they always add......I was expecting 9,

Ye, it felt like a loss conceding in stoppage time, as i thought we might have just seen the game out. It wasn't a pretty game at all, but the points are the main thing at the end of the day. And looking at our run in i would say we would have one of the easiest run ins compared to our opponents but we are playing a few teams around us in a similar situation, so they're going to be big games, so i believe they will just be as tough as anybody else in this league. Teams such as us and Barnsley have had good runs, but we don't seem to be breaking away from the pack as everybody else is also picking up results. Thank for the insight JDS, The added time thingy......there were 6 substitutions x 30 seconds each, plus the 2 minutes they always add......I was expecting 9, Oh right, thanks for that :)
brian joicey
madine was injured (not fit enough for 90 mins) JJ brought off cos he had run out of gas (not used to 90 mins full pelt) coke brought off cos he too had run out of gas (been out injured recently) hardly bad selection/management (obviously i've seen/heard evidence of these points which you may not have)
