Guest Kagoshimaowl
Think it might take ten points actually. 3 wins and a draw is surely possible for us seen as we are playing all the teams around us!
horny owl
We need to play Barnsley another 3 times.
HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
I think it might need a record number of points this year. Not sure 55 will be enough. Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.
Guest Sweet&TenderOwl
Sounds promising and easier said than done. Other teams are in the same boat as us, fighting for their lives or have something to still play for. Despite us going on a run and turning around our form, we didn't get away, which says more about our own faults rather than the form of others around us. We have to focus on ourselves, only we can get us ourselves out of it and in doing that we have to create more, score more and go at teams. I can see us getting some more points, especially against Bristol who might be already gone. Other than I'm not sure we have enough to get the points we need. Merely due to us not going at teams at home, having to rely on our away form and Antonio this season, not creating enough chances and not putting enough of them away. Whether we stay up or not we've not been good enough this season and we need a big improvement next season whichever League we're in.

steelowl
Out of eight = 55 pts. = Safety surely ? tbf huge this year's strange upturn in form from the bottom 5 means the only true safety target is to finish better than the bottom 3 whatever that means and looking at it goal difference could be the decider so what slightly worries me is the 2 goal swing yesterday missing the pen then conceding could in fact be very costly
Guest Distraught!
A win against Brizzle will make all the difference. A tough fixture though and I would take a point from it now. However, if we do win, I absolutely cannot believe we will go down from a position of having 49 points with seven games to play.
Mike Hunt
How i see it is that the teams below us will need 4 wins or the eqivalent points and that would mean a 50% win rate , i cannot see that happening and you will also get a team that will implode above us , i think Huddersfield and Blackburn could be those two , this compounded by some of the bottom mix playing each other means 55 pts should be fine . We will see but the sooner we can acumalate them the better
Guest Sweet&TenderOwl
What does it say about us? It says we are shyte and we haven't got a spine to our team, or enough about us to go at teams at home, and not enough consistency, creativity, goals or quality in our team. In other words it says we are not good enough whether we stay up or not. We've got a long way to go to even be a competitive mid-table or to be just a fairly decent side at this level, who are not just merely making up the numbers and battling to stay up all season. Blueblood
It doesn't help that the teams at the top are all losing their bottle at the same time. It's like nobody wants to get out of this league at either end
Guest Sweet&TenderOwl
It doesn't help that the teams at the top are all losing their bottle at the same time. It's like nobody wants to get out of this league at either end The League as been low on quality and low on consistency throughout. The Redtits seem to be being handed a place in the Prem by the faults and inconsistency of the other teams at the top. Whoever goes up may really struggle unless they have significant investment, get the right players they need and have enough about them to surprise teams in the top flight. I do think however, its noticeable that the stronger teams have got more creativity in their teams, a stronger spine to their teams, to be able to grind out results, whilst the likes of us down the bottom, seem to create little and have got little quality in our team. The depth of our squad is weak like some of the other teams down the bottom. Can still see us going down, if we don't create more or go at teams more. Despite the fact we've still got to play some of the poorest teams in the Leagues, we still have got to go at those teams, beat them and create against them. Not sure we've got enough about us to get the remaining points we need. Edited March 31, 2013 by Sweet&TenderOwl

Have to agree the form we have against the better teams is basically down to playing through gaps created in more adventurous teams whereas playing teams where we are the ones expected to create exposes our ineptitude

Since Xmas we have shown we can cope with this league, the problem being the first few months have stopped us having a more comfy season like Charlton who still aren't mathematically safe either. My gut told me we'd beat Barnsley (didnt want to jinx it though) but I have a feeling we may come unstuck down there as they are billing this as their last chance and selling tickets for a tenner. I think we may need 55 to 60 points the way it's going!
