Hayden White

Recommended Posts

To quote The Sunday People, "Manchester United are lining up a shock raid on Sheffield Wednesday for promising teenage right back Hayden White, writes Alan Nixon. The youngster is causing a stir in the youth ranks and is in the Owls under-21 team years ahead of his time. White, 17, has been a stand out since switching from winger earlier in his career to become a classy defender and United are heading the race for his signature".

For those who watch the junior sides, is he that good?

If he's in our youth setup can't Man U take him for a minimal fee? Scram?

They can indeed. The premier league changed the rules to suit themselves last season, and now I believe there's just a nominal fee to be paid when they decide they want to take players from smaller clubs.

More chance of me playing than Jones giving this lad his debut in such a game. We will play a flat back 8, and waste 87 minutes. A point will do us, and probably condemn Bristol.

Will a point do us though? The way all the teams down at the bottom are scraping out wins, it could well be 2 points dropped.

If that's the case that Man U can take him for a minimal fee we should be giving him a professional contract now. If they want him they can stump up the cash.

Why would he sign a contract with us and risk a potential move to a side like Man Utd though?

Maybe he doesn't think like 90% of the other young ones and can see he has more chance of playing first team here in a couple of years THEN getting a big move as a better player rather than still being stuck in youth at United

You mean give him a 5 year contract on some daft wage just to stop him from leaving?
