One Relegation Place To Fight For?

Recommended Posts

Now I know predicting anything in this league seems pretty pointless but here goes...

It'll be tough for Bristol to scrape out from here - they probably need 5 wins from 7. Ain't gonna happen. (tempting fate massively ahead of Monday, I know!).

After that the dingles - wasn't particularly impressed with them today and their run-in is without doubt the toughest. They have Leicester, Palace and Cardiff in their next three then Forest and Hull before the end of the month. Ouch.

So unless one of those two pull something really special out of the bag it only leaves one place up for grabs. My money would be in Blackburn - no wins in 9, no manager, a team full of youngsters and away to Cardiff in their next game. They could be in the bottom three by the time they come to Hillsborough. They're totally reliant on Rhodes - without him they'd have no chance.

2 wins and 2 draws from 8 should do it for us.. feeling confident :milan:

Wouldn't write off the dingles just yet because of their fixture list - I said the same a couple of weeks ago, and they won their next 2 against Brighton and Watford!

We just need to win at least 4 of our final 8 games, and leave the bottom 3 to sort itself out.

One game at a time.

3 Points at Bristol (hopefully) will give us 49 and still we have our game in hand vs Millwall (who have their game at Wembley on the Saturday after they play us on the Tuesday.

It's not gonna be easy by any means but 3 points on Monday are a must and hopefully a result or 2 will go for us.

Still 3 places to play for. Beat Bristol on Monday then I can't see them getting out of it.

The lower teams are beating the top teams so we can't write anyone off until mathematically really. Still in our hands and a long way to go yet

I thought that-like something to aspire to!

He could be on to something though, given our track record for failing to achieve targets, maybe we should consider it, if we try and go down, we will finish 15th.

IMO, this will be an easier question to answer after Monday - if we beat Bristol, then I would consider them as down.

Which leaves two places to fill.... Not sure who's gonna be in em, and there's every chance it'll go down to the last day, and perhaps even goal difference

Barnsley seem to have better results against the top clubs than the bottom ones...but after watching them today I wonder if they have the bottle...they went to bits after the first goal.

Huddersfield, Blackburn both playing poorly...Wednesday are tough..not great, but can mix it with either the best or the worst...that game in hand could be vital....

I've said for weeks Huddersfield and I'm not changing my mind.

I wouldn't mind Blackpool going down too. That would shut the tinpot fans up I've had to put up with at work for the last few years.

As Vic The Pr1ck would say, that would be normal service resumed.

Said the same myself about Huddersfield. Prediction was Bristol and Huddersfield down, with the rest fighting it out (I think I said it was between us,Blackpool,Peterborough,Ipswich)

Think it's fairly safe to say Brizzle are pretty doomed, wouldn't write the dingles off just yet

Bristol have done well at home recently so even they can't be written off yet. Still wide open. Even Derby in 12th are only 5 points ahead of us having played a game more so half the league still in this battle.

I reckon that todays defeat will knock the stuffing out of Barnsley, and that coupled with their tough run of fixtures will see them join Bristol as certs for the drop.

The other place is anyone's guess though
