Referees - What Is Going On With Them?

Are they just not that good?

or

Do they look like they are just making it up?

I know many clubs can say they ALWAYS get poor refs but we must have one every single week and that's no exaggeration.

Nothing ever seems to happen to these even tho apparently they have assessors in the stands...what the heck do these do? What are they supposed to mark down?

IF ever they do decide to rap a referee they just seem to think it's fine to drop him down a league and flip up another team and then he's back up the league the next game and continuing to make the same shocking decisions.

I think one thing most fans from most clubs can agree with is that..

Neil Swarbrick, Darren Deadman,Trevor Kettle and Andy D'urso (that's to name 4) are shocking and how they continue to be referee is baffling.

I thought League One referees were bad and it was great to get away from them referees but it just looks like we have the same problem and they are supposed to be better.

Baffling,

So long as you can justify your decision to an assessor you're ok. Its widely assumed thats its down to opinion and interpretation of an incident and how the laws may apply/ should be applied. So long as you say what you saw and which law applied, the assessor may disagree but will take into account the refs position against their own. The score is generally given around position and use of signals, communication of a decision/s and match control and application of law but the latter can be debated due to opinion and interpretation.

Scores are done on average over number of games and i believe target is 75, thats what it is for promotion anyway. You pretty much have to have a shocker or get a major decision wrong to receive any form of punishment which usually is a demotion to lower level, few relatively average games and your back in the mix replacing the next ref to have a shocker

Buxtons sending off was simply fookin' ridiculous..our penalty was fookin' ridiculous.....decisions made to show the crowd and the players that the ref sees things we don't, when actually he is so far off the mark to make it laughable, all in his own mind....flip all to do with fairly officiating a game of football...he is paid to do a bloody job, not make hans christian anderson look like a sodding statistician...absolute bloody joke today...but he'll be back some other week...

I just think that the FA are scared to start making them accountable because the refs will probably do some sort of boycott and say it's not there fault and they need help.

The referee is an utter shambolic official.

Totally incompetent and erroneous. My advice is he should quit his role and save himself the embarrassment. A truly woeful performance that he should be extremely embarrassed about.

Have some pride Salisbury and quit so other clubs and their fans don't have to put up with such garbage "officiating".... And oh, take them linesmen with you.

Calamity all around.
