WORKSOP_OWL
I can not believe people are questioning the ability of these 2 players against what we have now. People are saying is Neville better than coke or prutton, Of course he is. Age does not matter at all. There is a reason why he has played and still is playing in the premership because he is good. Coke is a young lad with bags of talent and has the ability to progress, Prutton is is a decent ball player but thats about it. With Pennant, someone actually put that he could be better than JJ.... He is 100 times better Fact. Our wingers are poor. JJ, can beat a man no end product, whats the point in him beating the man not to retain the ball? Antonio, would not play him on wing ever again, get him up front, his first touch is horrible, he covers this up with good pace. If you actually concentrate on that the next time you see him play you will understand what I am trying to say. So All in all Neville and Pennant are better than any player in out current team and thats a Fact.... Discuss
Skyline
Have i missed something? What has Neville got to do with us? He's still playing for Everton...? Edit: Nevermind, thought people was suggesting we bring him in on loan now. Edited March 27, 2013 by Skyline

PeteG_1984
It's not as clear cut as that though is it Worksopowl? They may have bags of ability but if they don't apply it they may unsettle the squad. But then that is a risk with any player. Also think you're being a bit harsh in your assessment of Antonio
Guest wilyfox
Neville spoke of his willingness to drop divisions - if he needs to. I'm not sure he does need to. Should Everton decide not to retain his services, I reckon he'd make a fine acquisition for a club stepping up to the prem from the champ. The guy is a top pro. WORKSOP_OWL
Green Goose- Thank God your on the same level as me! As for Antonio, he is very clumsy and awkward when on the ball, Little bit like Reda at LB !

Guest mikeglossopowl
Antonio is young and is close to completing his first full senior season where (until injury) he has played nearly every game. His potential is there for all to see, yet we still want to slag him off! Give the lad time FFS

They are both streets ahead of what we have. I agree with what someone has put above in terms of "upsetting the apple cart". This would apply to Pennant, most definitely not Neville. The guy is a model professional and would be a huge assest for any club outside of your current "big premiership clubs"
WayneTheOwl
Is it surprising that Antonio has finally "burnt" out. It was only a matter of time. He should have had games on the bench instead of playing every minute of every game (or thereabouts). But, I can understand why he did, he was the only one who could create something from our midfield. Our only danger. He is still a young lad and in my opinion a very good player who has the potential to be a top premiership player in time. As for Neville & Pennant - they are better than any player we have, by a mile!
WORKSOP_OWL
At this moment in time we have to be happy with players like Antionio because he's doing well in a very poor side. I will admit that we are poor and from day one this season was always going to be a dog fight, even after that good start and some fans were talking about promotion, serious? Out of the back 4 only Buxton would gurentee a starting place week in week out. Midfield changes that often and I don't thing any have pulled any trees up and going forward... Well thats just a joke, Gary Madines goals got us up here, give the boy a chance last 9 games let him bully defenders and score goals. He's good enough, he needs a chance in the team, looked good against Cardiff when he came on too.
