Blackburn sack Appleton - Reckon they are going down. Thank goodness for Milan

I put this in the matchday section as I think it directly affects us in two ways.

1) Blackburn are in such turmoil that I simply don't see them surviving due to the impact on morale

2) For those who moan about the way Milan runs the club this serves as a timely reminder of just how lucky we are to have him instead of crazy unrealistic owners such as the Venky's

Soon as he sells us the better.

Need money to take us forward, he's not willing to do that.

Why would you not ?

Take job

Succeed = winner

Fail or get fired = payoff

Either way it's big bucks

Exactly this, football managers have a Reyt life

Money guarantees nothing. Tried at Pompey, Coventry, Leeds, Blackburn, QPR and various others.

Tell you what Council, why not re-mortgage your house and put all your money into Wednesday, you seem happy enough for other people to spend theirs with no realistic prospect of a return.

But as a manager could you put in the energy and passion knowing that after 60 odd days in the job if you go on a losing run you'll get sacked? I know you can say who cares, you get a pay off, but as a professional football manager surely having that over your head from the start would mean you're heart isn't fully in it. Not to mention it looks awful on your CV. I dunno, maybe I've been playing too much Football Manager.

Don't get into football if you intend to keep your money.

Exactly, yet you expect others to do what you are not willing to?

The game has to change, hopefully FFP will start the process. As a bigger club with better turnover it should help us.

Kin ell matey, if I could get us into the prem on a public sector wage I would, he should stop coming out with "we're going to give it a real go", soundbite and put his money in or shut the flip up.

That's the truth but its not right. Financially football has gone insane financially over the past 20 years. It has to change.

It won't change while the big bucks get paid to prem teams.

Everybody wants a slice of that cake.

Yes Milan has not managed expectations particulary well notwithstanding what I said above about being financially self sufficient going forward.

No argument from me there but its stll insane and self indulgent.

I'm making the point that as fans we are completely unrealistic in expecting people to throw endless amounts of money in yet we quibble about a few quid. I never want to see Wednesday get into the mess we were in just a couple of years ago again, ever. Whether the money is owed to the banks (like we did) or to an over owner who has over-reached himself (like United) it doesn't matter, ultimately it kills the football club and sentences it's fans to years of misery.
