4 Points - Refs - Anger

Recommended Posts

Not posted for a while as I have been so angry. Unfortunately my anger is getting worse and I think I need some medication. The illness is called refarumbleingitis.

4 points lost over the last 2 games. 4 points needed in the next 2 games.

Some might say we didn't deserve a point against Forest. I totally agree. But that scrotebag of a referee wound me up to the fullest (at least he knew about it, its the only advantage being a few rows from the bottom of the kop). I thought I was gonna get turfed out of S6 Saturday. Then when I saw the replays, how the rumble could he not give both of em. As for last nights goal/penalty/sending off, I am in absolute despair.

Its alright saying it happens to other teams, but its costing US big time and could end up costing us another 2 seasons out of the Championship and another 2 season of those flaps from S2 laughing at us. It will also cost us financially. All because of those rumblezoids who are supposed to be professionals. I hate the lot of them. Look at that last night, Man Utd sending off - a joke. Even though they don't need the money, it could cost them 10s of millions.

It just seems to be happening to us ALL THE TIME. Why are they allowed to be so incompetent and ruin clubs seasons. They should be accounted for, these mistakes and sheer blindness are week in week out. Where are all the decent refs? There were loads years ago. Now they are just young jumped up little flaps who run around like little tails thinking they are big time.

Tough 2 games coming up but Leicester is winnable especially if we can play like we did last night (1st half). Cardiff we can get a least a point if we can score! 13 games this season we have not scored in, this and the refs are the reason we are in for a nervous time. Hope come Barnsley match we can be out of that bottom 3.

It was only Friday I was thinking we could be 8 points clear of relegation with a game in hand. Now look at it. Its horrible.

Sorry just had to have a rant.

I think regarding the old ref's and the new ref's, If you look at games even from the early premier league days the game is much more quicker it has developed bu the refereeing has not.

I would like to see improved refereeing standards and techniques in match the playing standards. I know there is the argument that the controverse decisions is all part of football and that is what makes football football but that is total rubbish in to days game where I agree it costs clubs thousands and millions and could potentially send clubs extinct

things to be considered

1. have those referees on the lines ( like they do in Europe) but let them get involved having watched them in the European games they don't seem to make or overrule a referees decision in an around the box.

2. Use Video technology the referee in the stands should be able to contact the main referee if he believes the ref has got it wrong to show him video replays if he believes it is a game changing decision for example sending off, goal, penalty. This will not slow the game down. It could be refused by the referee or even be refused to look at the evidence however if the referee is notified by the referee in the stands this information should be recorded and used in evidence if a club appeals. You could have a time limit on the decision making to speed things up but I believe this would be used as an excuse to get the decision wrong. it would not completely rule out controversy because as we have seen by watching sports on TV even with the slow down replays it is sometimes very hard to make a correct decision.

3. To keep in line with the ref in the stands challenging the ref each bench should be aloud to challenge the ref twice during a game if the beleive the ref has got it wrong. If the bench is proved to be incorrect and the referee has it right they could face a fine and pitch side ban. This would mean decisions strongly believed to be incorrect will be challenged and clubs would respect referee decisions and only argue if they believe to be incorrect.

4. referees should be interviewed and or match-day reports / decisions publicised to show decision makings and justification, managers players and chairmen all justify there actions why do referees not

5. If a player, manager, or official is found to have cheated, they should be banned and fined and his club finned too and this should increase in each offence. for example player dives but not seen in the game he is banned 2 games and fined, he dives again, 4 weeks ban and fine dives again,  2 month ban and fine etc..etc.. each season the slate is wiped clean. This will devalue the player, stop clubs from paying big money for him and stop him demanding bigger wages. It would make clubs think twice about purchasing a player that could cost them money and potentially be out half the season.

I genuinely believe that referees have a hard job at times to get the decisions right however I do also believe they can use this as an excuse, and I believe that if they are provided with better technology and support to keep up with the modern demands and speed they should be made more accountable. It would mean radical changes to our modern game but it would bring back honesty and integrity and I think it would improve our game

Unfortunately, football has progressed at a rapid rate over the past decades and the standard of referee's hasn't matched this.

I'm not only talking about Wednesday (last night's game between Man Utd and Real Madrid is another very recent example), referee's are ruining football for me - and have done for a good few years now.

Whilst I appreciate the players aren't fully playing their part as they try to con the referee's as and when they can, referee's and their pointless officials on the touchlines are making more and more f*ck ups as each week passes. I have forgotten the days where my mates and I talked about the quality of football during/after a game, it is now dominated by talk of the officials.

It seems far too frequent now that officials (mainly referee's) are more interested in making a name for themselves and putting themselves in the limelight by making mistakes that will be talked about for weeks and remembered for years.

I am kinda getting sick to the back teeth or paying £25/30 to attend a game or take an evening out to watch the TV where the odds are now on that the referee will ruin it. What's the f*cking point?

I agree to bring in my previous post to link with your example of the Manchester United game versus Real Madrid.

Nani sending off was a clear game changing decision, A ref in the stands could have had the referee have a look at this, the Manchester united bench could have challenged this. the argument still can stand if they believe it was a sending off I'm sure Spanish fans would see the decision differently to English fans. By having this technology and ability to challenge and influence a decision during a game it could bring a different tactic to football but you could also make the argument would the referee with this in place award Nani a red I'm sure it would have been a yellow.

Fact is If Ferguson could stop play and challenge he would it was a game changing decision, If the decision stands, Manchester United, and Sir Alex could face a fine and possible match ban ( every chance he will any way)If the evidence is believed to be conclusive and the decision is overturned and Nani red is reversed to a yellow, The (in my opinion) correct decision has been made and the game is different. There is till no guarantee that Manchester united will win or get knocked out but justice has prevailed and

Manchester United may get another Trophy and a further 20 million plus.

If the Challenging technology and ruling in place I would imagine the initial decision would be a free-kick and yellow card and No bench would argue this.

That decision changed the game tournament and had huge implications on a teams status and finances and there was no right to appeal and no one to has to become accountable  If the changes was made you would see much more consistent refereeing decisions, and much more honesty and justification in the game.

It works in all favours, Referees are better supported and Clubs are better supported in the same way that clubs officials and players can all get fined on banned on poor performances, cheating, and challenging the correct decisions.

there should be one penalty box linesmen for each box that can over rule the ref as they will have the clearest view so make the best decisions . job done because with the speed the match is played now the man in the middle has a nightmare job to make a decision with people in the way in a split second that on a slow motion replay is proved to be totally wrong . two extra linos and relieve the pressure on the ref .

Yes. Rugby is closer to getting it right than football for some reason.

We would be rioting and the ref would probably end up knocked clean out or somet.

I would bet the FA look at the footage and agree with the the Referee, the decision will stand, and all the fans have to serve a 2 match ban and fined 2 weeks wages.

That seems to be the norm regardless if right or wrong
