gurujuan
If Coke, who limped off just before half time, is out for a while, then I think we will need to bring somebody in. A central pairing of Prutton and Semedo offers very little creatively and McCabe is simply not experienced enough for the predicament we find ourselves in. Personally I think we need an old head in there, someone who will boss the area and create chances for the strikers. Milan has said the funds are there if DJ needs to bring someone in, well I think the time has come to get someone in.

gurujuan
Well I thought the lad Dave Jones who was available at Wigan would have been perfect but he's just moved to Blackburn
Guest Sweet&TenderOwl
Yes. Who? Agreed a creative CM is needed. But like you say, who? Is this a game of guess who? is the new signing a man? Does he have two legs? Dark hair and glasses? And a muck star moustache?
SiJ
Nice to get someone in with a bit of experience and quality. We can always dream...
gurujuan
I think it's vital we get someone in there. Coke has done OK but for me we need someone who's been there and done it, we will need know how and experience as this looks as if it will go right to the wire. Guest Wad93
Get ready for the Ross Barkley thread, again..... Personally I would take him back, we are more solid in defence, added quality up front, its a different mentality now from when he was first here. Some people will say he is a luxury player we can't afford to have in a relegation scrap, I say Prutton is a scrappy player that isn't doing it for us, lets add that bit of quality in midfield now! The recent run of results against Brighton, Derby & Palace only papered over the cracks of how weak our midfield is! Forrest exploited that MASSIVELY! gurujuan
I liked Ross Barkley, on paper both him and Connor Wickham appeared to be top class signings. However, for me there are nagging doubts that both lack the experience to deal with our situation. Are they the players for a relegation dogfight? PeteG_1984
Bring Barkley back and play him as the link man in a 4-4-1-
Glaser
Nah... If we get dragged into the brown stuff, Ross Barkley is definitely not who we need. Can you really see him roll his sleeves up and get stuck in ! We need someone who has the experience and know how. A player like Gary O'Neil at West Ham, Jay Tabb at Reading would go down well
SallyCinnamon
I would have suggested McGinn from Watford, but i've found out he is on loan at Shrewsbury! Too good for League One, we shoulf try and get him here until the end of the season with a view to permanent in the summer.
lesbarbeux
Most of us have rightly been rapping on about a creative midfielder all season, perhaps if Coke is going to be out for a while we might just try and land one now. Our options are few at the moment although we do have the pace around that would benefit from an "old head". McCabe is definately one for the future and if he were more experienced then he could fill that role admirably but being a youngster he doesn't yet have the consistency. But, they don't grow on trees and who would welcome a relegation scrap? We really need DJ/MM to pull one out of the bag now!

gurujuan
We are approaching the seasons run in and we are still just a couple of points outside the relegation places. No one can confidently say we won't go down any more. I don't think we will, but I certainly can't say it with any confidence. Our recent good run has come to an end as we have entered a tricky run of fixtures and by the time the deadline passes we could be in the bottom three. All our good run has done, is drag a few more sides into the danger zone, but they still have a slight cushion over us. This deadline will represent Milan's last chance to try and protect his investment. There are no guarantees in life, but when considering what relegation may cost, then surely it would be worth taking plunge and bringing in the best we can find to give us the best possible chance of avoiding the drop.
