Worries for Jones

We were dreadful first half. Didn't get close enough to them. They were spreading it about like in a training session and were given olays after only halfway through the first half.

Second half we improved got more in their faces and went for it more. We set up as the way team and let them onto us. It's worked in the past on our good run but yesterday it made us look like boys against men, till things were changed later on in the game. Wickham's been disappointing, reminds me too much of Barkley, expected a lot more. Prutton's performance was one of his worst for a while. Though I don't think it was the fault of individual players.

The whole team didn't defend or pressurise them as a team or work together enough, especially in the first half or do most of the things that worked whilst we were on our good run. That said, Forest are a good team but we made them look much better than they are in the first half especially. Andy Reid was class for them, they spreaded the ball around for fun and their strikers are very good for this level. We need to return to the strengths and positives that got us on the good run but also take it teams a bit more and pressure them to win the ball. We can stay up and should do but we don't want this game to turn into another bad run, which would be the worst of times to go on a bad run near the end of the season.

We just need to stay up this season, which isn't going to be easy despite our good run prior to the Forest game. But we can look at teams like Forest and Derby, in terms of building and progressing in this League as long as we stay in it. Next season we need someone like Andy Reid in the middle of the park to create and run things, all good teams need three or four decent strikers and we also need some pace at the back to challenge at the right end of the table.

..............................Guedioura

.Helan..Lansbury..Coke..Prutton..Majewski..Antonio

..................................Reid

...................Blackstock.........Cox

Pugh...........Llera...........Gardner...........Buxton

Thats why Coke and Prutton looked poor yesterday. Forest had 4 on 2 in the midfield for most of the first half.

If we could have got Antonio and Helan on the ball then we might have caused them more problems, Forest were quite happy to have 1 v 1 on their fullbacks.

Rather than Forest beating Wednesday 1-0 it was more like Davies beating Jones 1-0.

It happens, we move on.

Coke and. Prutton have done very well since coming back into the team and have tightened us up in midfield.

But last night showed that against the better teams they lack that bit of quality.

For me this justifies Barkley coming back and certainly McCabe getting more action

it's not so much that they lacked that lttle bit of quality at key moments during last night, but the main fact is that they are very very limited in terms of technical ablity especially G Coke.

Deserved a penalty

But didn't deserve a point

Woefully inadequate on the day

Will be happy with 3 points out of the next 3 games !

personally, lets forget about the next 3 games and lets start to look towards the next two beyond that:Bristol City and Barnsley.those two games will be the defining moments on whether will stay in the Championship.
