Prutton & Coke - Poor

Utter f'kin rubbish, nothing to do with Coke and Prutton.

Billy Davies beat Dave Jones yesterday, their diamond against our pair would always come out on top.

Second half we changed it and we matched them.

My issue is how long we left it to change it, we went 1-0 down and it was too late.

With Hindsight we could have put Prutton in front of the back 4 picking up Reid.

Swapped Pugh and Helan and played Pugh more central.

Still not ideal without making subs, too early to change personnel i would think in case of injuries etc.

Lee for Wickham.

Problem and Solution.

Forest in bold, Wednesday in italic.

The games was lost in the first half because of Forest diamond in midfield.

.........................................Geudioura

Helan.....Lansbury.....Coke.....Prutton.....Majewski.....Antonio

.............................................Reid

We needed to match them earlier which is great to look back and do but difficult to see at the time.

Now making the change of Lee in and Wickham out would have allowed us to match them.

Now we have

............................Geudioura

..............................Antonio

........Lansbury......................Majewski

...........Pugh................................Lee

...............................Reid

..................Coke..............Prutton

Ive switched Helan to left back and pushed Pugh into midfield, Antonio will get up and support Lita when attacking and drop in on Geudioura when defending.

Similar thing to what we did with Bridcutt against Brighton.

Not really the players fault today, it was the shape of both sides in the first half that decided the game.

By slating the players today after one defeat shows stupidity unless of course you were asking for changes before the game?????

Have we forgot that this side beat Palace last Saturday?

very true about the truimph of tactics and all blame put on Prutton and Coke. Second half we did match them, but their acting, laying on the floor after every tackle and fouling us when we tried to hit them on the counter, they wasted at least 10 minutes doing this, otherwise we would have scored late on

Exactly mate, with us being the home team yesterday probably slowed DJ's tweaking down.

Away from home we would probably spend the first 15 mins stopping them playing.

At home we had to try and show our intent, which in the end went against us.

the difference in quality shows what we are needing for next season

Prutton and Coke have done an average "STEADY" job so far this season - but if we are to progress as a team, we are screaming out for players like Lansbury and Guedioura(sp) - those two, especially Guedioura were simply majestic to watch and a cut above anything we've had in the past 5 years if not 10.

hopefully it shows how high the bar is set for the quality we need if we are to get back to the promised land!

for now though, lets not be hasty and get on the backs of Prut's and Coke - they are doing us alright for the moment
