@owlstalk
Loads of clever movement, loads of off the ball moves, fast attacking football, and left the opposition (in this case us) chasing shadows Are we close to becoming a side like that where we overrun teams like that or is there a long way to go ? Chriss
Miles off. Whens the last time anyone felt positive that we could smash teams week in week out, seriously? Edited March 2, 2013 by Chriss
WatfordOwl
We've certainly got the pace to overload the flanks however we might start becoming a victim of teams working out we do not have an awful lot else at the moment. I don't think it's out of our reach to be getting close to them next season however it will all depend on whether we can get the personnel in to play a little more intelligently. Forest were extremely good tonight and will take some beating by any team in this division.
northeastowl
We're nowhere near being anything like them. We can't string three passes together. We are so uncomfortable with the ball out our feet it's painful to watch.
Guest chuckie4570
Doubt it.... not Jonesy type of football..! Played us off the park, especially 1st half Edited March 2, 2013 by chuckie4570
Guest GrahamHydeFanClub
Given time we can, but don't forget, Forest have thrown an awful lot of money at that squad.
owls maniac
They've paid millions for some of their players. Doesn't mean we can't improve our passing and moving but that's worth bearing in mind.
alanharper
Way behind Forest at the moment, but they've spent a lot of money. Main difference today was that they've got pacy players and use them well, we've got some pacy players but still don't create anything with them. gurujuan
The key to it is players being comfortable on the ball. Even our best players such as Antonio, are not comfortable on the ball.
Guest GrahamHydeFanClub
Its when the basic skills of football are missing it gets so frustrating.
theowlsman
You need the right quality of player all over the pitch. For that, you have to cough up some dosh occasionally.
Guest ka58
Need a proper centre midfielder - not had one since Glenn whelan and before him youre going back to 90's. Coke and prutton have done their best and I can't fault them but they are a mile off in terms of where we need to be. fife_owl
Maybe. If we stay up this season. But we've got no dough, so we have to build year. Edited March 2, 2013 by fife_owl
airborne_rat_of_s6
Fine balance between keeping it tight and players making that extra yard of space for the easy pass. Apart from the last 10-15 minutes we were poor. Only a matter of time before we came up against a side who like to play "proper" football. Seems we can either defend well or go all out and attack with fluidity. Nothing seems to be created by Prutton and Coke as a pairing, which makes it easy to defend against two wingers.
