Ronio
I think we need to give Prutton and Coke new contracts in the summer. Ive read a few messages on here saying that we should get rid of them in the summer and bring in other midfielders of supposed better quality. Coke I'm sure with more time in the first team and performing the way he has been lately could be a great box to box player who scores goals. How many games have we lost with Coke in the side? Prutton also deserves a new contract. He is that experienced general i said we were lacking last summer. All them games we lost earlier in the new season, Prutton didnt feature in most of them games. All Prutton knows from his limited games so far is promotion winning form, which he helped bring to the team. Surely we need to give them new contracts in the summer? Mr Farrell
1 year extension if they extend current form to the end of the season. If not, no room for sentiment.
fpowl
depends who our transfer targets are to be honest. On performances yes I agree, It also strikes me like pruttons a good bloke to have around the club, he seems to have great banter but if you was a team going for the play-offs could these lads be the players to deliver it over a season, I'm not too sure. then we go into the argument of them being squad players but what will, McCabe corry, palmer, semedo, lines (think he still has a contract next year) become. for me if its a case of reducing the wage bill to bring in better unfortunately its ruthless business and I would have to say go for the all rounder and quality
Inspector Lestrade
If we are to progress then sorry these two have to be allowed to leave. Not that they have done anything wrong, just they don't have what it takes to get the club to the next level. In recent home games we have been dominated in midfield. We need the midfield to join the attack, quicker and slicker this we are failing to do.

FreshOwl
we will clearly need a lot better if we are to push on next season but if they keep their current performance levels up then I don't see the harm in a years extension for both as cover, provided we bring better calibre in. I have a feeling McCabe will really push on next season and we will see more of the promise he has shown in glimpses Edited February 28, 2013 by FreshOwl

Its unlucky and a little bit ruthless on the lads but progression is progression, and I think it may mean there wages will be used to strengthen, instead of used as back up. It kinda feels wrong to be speaking about this when the pair are having a cracking season and deserve all the plaudits and praise the get.
Leaping Lannys Perm
I think we need to keep both on for another year, though there is a good chance they won't both be starters next season. Think Coke could keep his place and would want Prutton to stay to help out youngsters and step back in if new signings don't bed in.

However i agree with the next level comment. We need someone in CM who can provide goals if we have aspirations of getting to the top 6 over the full course
torryowl
our form since they came back into the side is promotion winning form if they carry on til the end of the season they deserve to be here next season .i know you have to progress but giving away players who are playing well is not the way to go about it ,if we have to make room for new signings then those who havnt delivered should be the ones to make way.wether we could find clubs who would be able to match the wages though of some we should be shifting out is a different matter . Glaser
Wait until the seasons end first ... No point in rushing things like this. They cannot be approached until the last 30 days of their current deal, so that gives us until the start of June .. Who knows, god forbid, one might suffer a bad injury, or completely tail off and be out of favour again Yes they have been a massive part of the revival, but also, to move forward next year, I think we need a little more than a regular pairing of Prutton and Coke. Ronnie Starling
Prutton and Coke have taken us to the next level when you look at the points return with them in the side. We have had other supposedly better quality midfielders played for us this season who would have taken us back if they had continued to have played. The mistake we made earlier in the season was to pick systems for set players in the team. Now we are picking players for a set system which has been far more effective. senwar
A huge no for me. Both done well. Both not what we want if we are to progress. Credit to them for giving it a go - but being blunt, we offer no threat at all from midfield. This has to be improved.
gurujuan
It also depends who we are going to ship out from this area. As others have said, we'll still have players who are under contract. Think we would still need one quality addition in the central midfield area.
matthefish2002
Current form of both is ok and think any descion should be made at end of season. But if it was down to me I would move them on. We should be aiming for a level above what I believe these 2 can give us over a season.

Lee A
If we are in this division next year, the likes of Lines and Semedo need to leave before either of these But personally I just think Prutton is better than Semedo, that's all, and to really progress, we need to get much better players in, however his experience has clearly been crucial to us this season, and I cant fault him for his efforts, might be useful to have in the squad. Wouldnt be too disappointed to see both offered another year, or to see them move on really. Edited February 28, 2013 by Lee A
gurujuan
Them playing so well will give us options. What I mean is, we won't want to be making the same mistakes as last year, having to bring in a dozen new players. Five or six quality additions I reckon. If they can prove from now until the end of the season that they can do a good job in the championship then we may need only to bring in one player in this area. Lets not forget though, however good this run of results are, there is still an alarming lack of creativity in the side.
