BenitoCarbone
...which of our players of today would you bring? Which would be good enough to make it? Unfortunately not many.. I would like to see these given a chance( not all would make it of course, but some of them maybe): Antonio(obviously still a lot to learn, but raw talent) Gardner(done it before) McCabe( still young and talented) Coke( could he make another jump?) Kirkland(done it before) Reda( although picture him against Lennon/walcott and such...:s) Lita(always be scoring) Maybe: The goal machine? Lee Helan Wickham Buxton Anyone else? doubled123456
The goal machine can't even make it in this league never mind the Prem.
Hawkeye
You would hope we learnt our lesson about dismantling successful squads with team spirit. I'd keep the vast majority of them, add a couple of pacy centrebacks, a winger and a couple of strikers. Cog, Taylor, lines and pecnik would be the four I'd consider offloading. Guest Teetowl
I'd take them all. Spend a year in the prem. take their money, Get relegated, take their money, build up a stronger squad over a couple of years whilst still taking their money. Get promoted back to prem with a good squad, take their money and consolidate for a year. Second year top 4 finish. Third year beat Manure in the CL final.............Blades go bust. LoOn
I'd agree I'd keep the bulk of what we have. Even if we came straight back down we won't have spent masses and would then have the funds to mount a challenge upon our 2nd stint as we could use the funds to go back up with a stronger team. This of course all depends on ffp rules as you might not see such gulfs in terms of wages and structures from next season. The league may become more even still.
