Took my lad to the match last night for his 30th birthday He is disabled and in a wheelchair

After the match we where stood under the stand waiting at the team coach to see the players

until we where told we could not stand there and was kicked out of the ground by one steward

The coach  was parked 50 yards  from the gate

The stewarding in side was pathetic. There was one behind us eyeballing a group of four young lads. The lad next to me was on his phone waving to his dad so stood in the gangway so he could see and the steward took offence and dragged him back to the seats. A little later one of the lads sat on the back part of his seat and the steward shoved him off it and told him to either stand or sit properly. He was constantly staring at these lads who were no older than 13. He was obviously a jumped up idiot in an orange jacket. Absolutely no need for it.

There will always be nasty little jobsworths like that.

dunno if that means all the birmingham stewards are like that though..You can't generalize.

That said, having worked in Birmingham for the last 3 weeks I am very glad to be back up north as it is a complete sh1thole.

Take it further mate, email / write to them and complain, demanding an explanation...lay it on thick about your lad.....absolutely no need for that sort of contentious, petulant and antagonistic behaviour. You may just have a case under equal opportunities law.

Hope your lad was not too distressed.

I'll draught you a letter if you you like and utilise my union leader experience...drop me a Pm if you fancy.

There are people like that everywhere, jumped up nobodies. When Supertram first came into service I had a day off work, and took my nephew on our first ride on tram from Halfway to Hillsborough, culminating with his first ever trip to the ground. We walked through the wrought iron gates which allow you access round the back of the South stand, round to the Lep. We hadn't even got to the bridge round the back of the South when we were collared by SWFC security who simply told us to clear off. I told him this was my nephew's first visit to Hillsborough, he was five years old, and we just wanted to walk from Pensitone Road to the Lep. The answer was, "this is SWFC property, leave now or I'll drag you off". People like that are everywhere.

Jobsworths are everywhere. I've lived in Brum for nearly 20 years now and have developed a bit of a soft spot for Villa, West Brom and Walsall. I cannot bring myself to like the Blues though despite marrying into a family of Bluenoses (even that term makes me wince). It's just bloody grim there. One day we'll beat 'em again at St Andrews.
