The Dukeries Owl
Although our recent good run of results have seen us maintain a narrow gap over the bottom three, is this more or less frustrating than for the teams in the bottom 3 most of who have had a good run themselves but can't seem to catch up? Who if anybody do you think will continue to drop like a stone from mid/lower table and who would you tip to suddenly start bucking their ideas up, given that Wolves and now it seems Huddersfield will have new managers. By the way Ladbrokes have already started a book on Robbin's successor at Huddersfield.
Pompeyowl
The league is so open this year. If we were still in the bottom three I'd wonder what we'd have to do to get out of it. However, looking at the league now, a couple of wins could shoot you up close to a play off place. Before crimbo there was a 5 point gap between 21st and 20th meaning it looked like 3 out of 4 will go down, compared to now where pretty much no one is safe. Guest Distraught!
I think Birmingham are in quite a bit of trouble. They won't keep getting last minute goals and their financial state is not good either. Millwall are another that I have my eyes on. Their squad does not look the best and they have dropped quite a few points recently. Edited February 13, 2013 by Distraught!
gurujuan
It's too unpredictable We are on an extraordinary run of form, promotion form if you like, and that surely won't last. A few bad results and we'd be back in that bottom three. Personally I don't think we're good enough to maintain this form, we aren't a side that should be challenging for promotion, so it would be unrealistic to expect us to keep it up. It's still touch and go for me.
lanzaroteowl
The Loans have made us a lot better team than the one from the first half of the season. So I believe we have enough to keep us above the bottom three. Then in the pre season we will have to do the recruiting we should have done this season to give us a better chance of stablisation we have lacked this year

It's still touch and go for me. For quite long periods, even over seasons, Laws' ragbag squad used to relentless motor on attaining a remarkably consistent 1.33 points per game. That is what I see as our target between now and the end of the season. Over the the last ten games, we have been averaging 2.1 points per game. That is automatic promotion form and, as you quite rightly say, we are unlikey to maintain that. However, even taking only six points out of somehing like 51, we still managed 25 points in the first 25 games at an average of 1.0 per game. On that basis alone, 1.33 per games seems more than attainable. That would give us another twenty points finishing on 56 points which would surely be enough to keep us up. The Dukeries Owl
I'm reasonably optimistic because whilst we may falter from time to time, surely at least one of the bottom three will do as well and one of the teams around us will not shake off their poor form which has seen them drop into the melee. On a side note, although Barkley has gone back to Everton I don't think the time is right for him to come back here.

I expect our points per game average to drop back but to a level which will still give us sufficient points to stay up. The team has started to settle in to the division now, and with the new additions I think it's very unlikely we will suffer the kind of runs we had earlier on. We've looked pretty comfortable at this level for the last 2 months now.

El Wednesday
Those two horrendous winless streaks have meant we're still playing catch up. Our recent form, along with the other strugglers, has really compressed the division. Could be that one or two teams that felt safe not so long ago are chucked into the relegation mix . I was looking at Millwall too. If their mindset has been on the play-offs for a large part of the season, they might not fancy a scrap at the bottom towards the end of it. Even though that's what they probably expected pre-season.
Prendo's boots
Weve now given ourselves more than a fighting chance...there's bound to be another mini blip but the whole of the bottom 3-4 have now dragged maybe 5-6 clubs into it...one of the bottom 3 at the end of the season im convinced will be one of these sides ....not convinced at all with Saunders at Wolves for instance...Keep The Faith Owls fans!!! Sulli_Owl
I'd rather be in our position than that of any of the bottom three - at least our fate is in our own hands. It is, as others have said, immensely tight though - I could see any one of the teams in the bottom half of the table going down.

Utah Owl
Not dispirited at all, we have been at the bottom end of the table for several months now. A few weeks ago you would have said any 3 from 4 were going down between us, Dingles, Brizzle and P'Boro, whereas now at least half a dozen other sides are suddenly nervously looking over their shoulders. I am sure we will be okay and that teams like Wolves, Udders and Brum could easily end up going down.
