Like everyone else I'm enjoying our current revival but is anyone else thinking that without Jay Bothroyd's 4 month loan spell we wouldn't have even struggled like we did in the first place?Simply look at our form before and after his time with us and the evidence is pretty conclusive.Like everyone else I was very optimistic when he signed but he simply never fit in to the team plan or had the necessary work ethic or desire to succeed in our team plan.

Yeah I agree but let's not have another hatefest on here for the fools.

There were other reasons aswell.

We needed time to adapt and for DJ to sort the team out.

What we have with DJ is a very pragmatic manager. I am behind him and thr team now. I think we can have a good season next year, a real push. This season maybe we are a bit far off the playoffs but you never know.

His form was poo - but don't make him a scapegoat for the whole team. We were defending poorly earlier in the season; JRoyd's not responsible for that. Like it or not, our squad did need time to adjust to a higher division - and now we're seeing them get to grips with it.

It seems so with Bothroyd and barkley we played a negative formation ,I still think barkley could have played just behind the striker ,

Or how about........our form dropped when Burton left and has now picked up since Stu came in.

While DJ is a good manager, I think he needs a good coach behind him.

I thought the signing of Bothroyd was a good one at first. I then changed my mind after seeing him play a few games where he looked uninterested and ineffective. Interesting to see that despite scoring on Saturday, Harry Redknapp had a dig at both him and DJ Campbell, suggesting they'd been given a chance which they hadn't taken. Said the QPR display in general proved why it was necessary for him to bring in a host of new signings. We could've told you that Harry.

It was a number of things looking back bothroyd s part of the problem. Barkley was a bigger problem the defensive side of his game was as non existant as bothroyds and we changed our formation to accomodate him. Also the inclusion of these two led to dropping jj and cog our best performers at the time.

Other factors were reda being out. semedo being less effective than expected and corry and mccabe being nowhere near ready for championship football but played week in week out when we had more experienced pros at the club.
