El Wednesday
Very interesting stuff. Brian did a great job for a long time under the circumstances. In terms of getting strikers in, it feels that nothing has really changed.
Paul..
One of the few managers I'd be happy to see back at the club.
cfox198
I think time has been kind to laws ( prob with irvine being even worse) Laws used to wind me up just as much as jones has this season . Decent bloke who tried his best but was a lower leauge mananger who punched above this weight here and should have been sacked a lot sooner. Paul..
I think time has been kind to laws I think time is being unkind to Laws inasmuch as people forget what massive cuntards were running the club at the time he was here (Lee excluded obviously as he tried his best). matthefish2002
Think Laws is best manager we have had since we fell out of Prem. But time was right for him to get sacked when he did and would say no to having him back.

Can say the same about any other manager from our recent history who had to work under the same board. People forget the terrible performaces under laws especily away from home and only rebember the derbys and burnley games. Baffaling how many would welcome him back in the future. Another in the long list of manangers who failed to turn us around.

Another in the long list of manangers who failed to turn us around. In 3 seasons we finished an average of 12th i.e top half of the table. This was despite him having the highest positive net transfer balance of any manager in our history, a tiny wage budget and absolute anarchy off the pitch, including a long spell with effectively no chairman at all between Allen quitting and Strafford coming onboard. People also forget that we only just stayed up in 2004/05 under Luggy and, had I been a betting man walking out of that Colchester game, I would have staked a lifetime of earnings on us being relegated in 2005/06. Laws turned that team into a good mid table team despite selling our best players. Laws = good manager.

Nearly went down in 2007/2008, with our worst ever start to a season and did go down in his last season here. I think the fact we went thru a peroid with no chairman made his job safer tbh as there was no one to sack him. Decent bloke but just another who wasnt good enough. Remember that season where Manchester United only finished third? Bloody Ferguson is SO overrated. Seriously, what in the world should he have been achieving under the circumstances at that time? SiJ
He really is a top bloke and I genuinely mean that. In hindsight he worked little miracles with the amount of cr@p he had to put up with.

Seriously, what in the world should he have been achieving under the circumstances at that time? Yeah. Laws did as good a job as fergison would have. He took over with us in the bottom three of the championship and left with us in the bottom three of the championship. I think if we had not had the victorys over united then laws would have been veiwed differntly.

DJMortimer
Yeah. Laws did as good a job as fergison would have. He took over with us in the bottom three of the championship and left with us in the bottom three of the championship. I think if we had not had the victorys over united then laws would have been veiwed differntly. Only by the hard of thinking. Keeping us competitive in the Championship as long as he did was a minor miracle. And a bloke of great integrity to boot.

That bloke took us higher than we had ever been for years, and we're still yet to trump it.
