DuncOwl
Watching the Blackpool vs Cardiff game today I thought that I recognised the ref... He's a big Wednesday fan that sits on the north; probably not today though!

DuncOwl
That's him. Maybe if he hasn't told the fa who he supports he could come and ref one of our games?
Pulsar
Used to travel to Hillsborough with John Key who was a well respected ref from 1981 -1994 He had a season ticket on the Kop while still running his airport taxi service. Loved watching the Owls. Is currently living in Cyprus since his retirement.

He's in his early 30's at most. top bloke. We used to go to the same school and he used to ref us when he was first starting out, we were say u12/13's and he was probably 16 at the time. Geohay
Imagine if he was reffing the last game of the season with one of Wednesday's relegation rivals, how tempted would you be to give the opposition a penalty in the last minute if it meant keeping Wednesday up?! I'm sure he's more professional than that, but it'd be at the back of your mind!!

Wouldn't even be in the back of me mind...i'd be giving pens left right and centre....reminds me of a Dickie Bird story......After he had retired, one of his first games as an umpire was Yorkshire against Lancashire....he joined in an LBW appeal with the Yorkshire bowler

Dad's good friend when they were at school. Met him a few times in Hillsborough at matches. I always mentioned the refs and he was always amazed at some if their decisions!!!
