Stockyowl
Come on guys, it's only been 20 years!!! Above the knee is ok. I think half the ground were screaming for a free kick when their player played it back with his thigh.

Jowl
I was up claiming it. I thought heading only was allowed for some reason.
Guest JonTheOwl66
I know you can chest it, and head it. But thigh it? Never knew that. Amazing.
Lincs Owl
Not only do many not understand the back pass rule but...... Many fans don't understand you can't be offside when receiving the ball from a throw-in or goal-kick. And I no longer understand indirect free-kicks. Used to be loads of them(for obstruction etc)inside or just outside the pen area but never seem to see any nowadays. Have they been banned while I've been on hols? Wath-owl
I knew about it only because something similar happened a few seasons back and it was mentioned on here then. Made me laugh when all the blokes around me were calling the ref shit and saying he didn't know what he was doing, and a woman behind me was telling them the rules of football. A woman for christ's sake. They should be ashamed!
No Uniform
From our angle it looked like it came directly off his knee.
ash60s
Immediately ALL referees' hands weent up! Consistent or what?
Lawrie Madden
I know the rule and understand but was desperate for a result and got caught up shortly before turning crimson when it computed that he had thighed it back in #fickbastad

captowl
Not quite as baffling as stopping a throw in with your hands getting booked for it and then making us take the throw in again. I didn't quite understand that rule.
Guest Teetowl
Does the rule include the knee? is there an 'inch each way' rule?
Waddling Owl
Once got in a fair bit of trouble for calling my PE teacher a tvvat when he gave a free kick against me for kneeing it back, the tvvat. Jürgen Weißbrot
The issue for me was that the defender seemed to be gesturing at the keeper to not pick it up. I thought it was off his shin. Otherwise why did he look so sheepish after nothing was given? Does the player not understand the rules either?
Essix Blue
And I no longer understand indirect free-kicks. Used to be loads of them(for obstruction etc)inside or just outside the pen area but never seem to see any nowadays. Have they been banned while I've been on hols? Off side and back pass are indirect. That's about it isn't it?
Ever the pessimist
You can head, chest, thigh it etc. Interestingly though you can't deliberately get past the rule by flicking it up in order to get it above knee height and then head, chest, thigh etc it back. By 'interestingly' I meant not at all interesting.
Joenaldo
They were adamant on Wednesday Player that it was a back pass...
