sheriwozgod
I normally hate hisinterviews but the one he just gave on RS was pretty insightful. Avoided for the main part his usual cliches and grumpiness and actually talked a lot of sense, Said he enquired about a striker this week and was told the asking price was 2.5 million and that 4 other champ clubs all above us had already enquired. Also said another prem striker that he asked about had been offered 22 grand a WEEK by another champ club , and said the wages Leeds offered were the reason we missed out on getting Barkley back. I know a lot wont like it but he made sense when he said we are still early in our development and that we,re still a way off competing in this sphere , said a conservative estimate was that Wolves wage budget was at least 3 times bigger than ours. Guest Sniper1
Kevin Doyle, Roger Johnson, Ebanks Blake, Jamie O'Hara, Christophe Berra. Those 6 players will roughly cost in wages what our whole squad does.
swfc1983
I get the feeling that we will reap the benefits of being prudent when the financial fair play rules come in, a lot of clubs are gonna be fooked
ThisCityIsOurs88
I'm guessing that striker was DJ Campbell? Heard the interview, was a good listen.
Guest wilyfox
If DJ wants an affordable player, what if he tried to stop shopping in the premier league...?! There were - and probably still are - affordable strikers outside the prem that could help with our goal-scoring problem. There are plenty of championship clubs doing just fine with championship players. As we've seen with JRoyd, prem players don't always bring their class with them... Mr Farrell
Signs that he's finally taking the interview tips from Stu onboard. Well done DJ.

We seem to have a fetish for Premier League loans, which is nice but its not the be all and end all. Sounds like were looking all over though. Bluesteel
I wonder if the 2.5m striker was Wells? Bradford want to scare people off him this window.
ThisCityIsOurs88
Jamie Vardy would be ideal. Can't imagine his wages are ridiculous either. Edit: on loan obviously... Edited January 19, 2013 by ThisCityIsOurs88
MotherGoose
I do also agree with this. We seem to have a fetish for Premier League loans, which is nice but its not the be all and end all. Sounds like were looking all over though. But go shopping in the lower leagues they'll still be wanting a million plus for anyone half decent. There's no point in spending £500k (assuming that we even have that, which I don't think that we do). If we're going to be spending money on a player its got to be a big improvement. We'd end up with another Maguire Bit stuck really. A decent loan is probably the best I think we can hope for
lincolnowl
Excellent interview and for the first time we got an insight in DJ and Milans thinking. Keep that up.

northeastowl
I wonder if the 2.5m striker was Wells? Bradford want to scare people off him this window. I don't think so, I'm sure they said he wasn't getting his game and that he was prem player, then went onto say he's still interested if they agree to drop the price.
