Just cancelled my trip to the Wolves game

Recommended Posts

F*cking painful decision to make but reckon it needed to be done.

Hoping to get over to Cardiff game on March 16th instead.

Was really looking forward to the trip over as well.

But if the match is off it would have been a dear weekend for nothing and possible travel problems on the Sunday.

Hope the match still goes ahead but wasn't willing to take risk.

To be fair, Belfast City and International are both third world class airports, particularly when it snows.  Remember them telling me that my flight was cancelled due to snow in East Mids - that was until I showed them the live traffic camera feed from Junction 23A on the M1 which was bright sunshine and no snow.  They then admitted it was because they had cocked trying to clear the 5mm of snow on the operating surfaces.

yeah was going to be flying Belfast to Manchester

yeah looks like we might even get some snow, we never get it as bad as England though for some reason.

so might not have even got out of Belfast ffs.

The Gulf stream. Places like Galway very rarely see frost.

Quality in the Sheffield Tap. Lord Marples - yum!

Though, the best pint(s) I have had in ages was in the Kings Head(?) at Huddersfield train station on the way home. They were in reight good nick.

Back to the OP (sort of), has there been any news out of the club/SCC regarding Saturday?

UTO

The Head of Steam. Stupendous beer.

I've just cancelled my ticket.

Decided I didn't fancy the risk of getting up at 6 tomorrow morning only to

(a) Not be able to get up to Sheffield because of the snow

(b) Get to Sheffield and find the match had been called off

© Get stranded in Sheffield because of the snow.

No chance here either...cant even get the van down the lane at the mo but was still going to give it a go and do the 250 mile round trip and had a couple of 'pickups' arranged to pay the diesel and theyve both now been called off ... .bugger!!!  Hope ours is the only game on and we whoop em...it'll look a hell of a lot better down the bottom then!!!

Live in Nuneaton, been snowing heavily since 9am, not a chance a match would be on down here. :st2: Got non-refundable train tickets with 3 others coming up. Might have to make it a day on the beers in Sheffield instead :Hirsty: , assuming trains are running okay

Scottish Owls bus is going ahead as scheduled. The club have been contacted and they reckon the match will be on so that's good enough for us!

We'll get a good clear run at the roads for a good part of it as the weather is nice here, clear blue skies and the sunshine (even I am shocked at that)

Weather update from Hillsborough

The skies are white/grey and look full of snow

It's freeeezing

The roads are totally clear

Paths have snow on from yesterday

But zero snowfall currently - nothing

Get out there clearing the pavements for everyone tomorrow
