The reason the players signing threads were bumped...

Recommended Posts

All these threads prove is that we fans know very little when it comes to buying/loaning players and then blending them together to play well as a team. Why should we be experts and get it right ? We like to think we are but are not and that is why we are not earning fat salaries like DJ.

Don't blame the fans and try and make them look foolish, put the blame where it is deserved.

That's a ridiculous misrepresentation of what Neil is doing that is about as rational and objective as a Sunday Sport front page headline.

Spot-on! We are soooo excited when we sign players 'cause we have been in the poo poo too long. We have trusted DJ to make the right decision in buying/loaning players and have been let down BADLY. So for all those who are condeming fans for booing on here, have a re-think.

So you think any manager that is given a low budget compared with at least 75% of his peers in the same division is not going to make some mistakes? Happen he was trying to do his best in really difficult circumstances!

You basically wanted to make people look like daft tw#ts, which you have, so kudos to you...

Interesting comment. One could take this comment either way. If you are refering to Neil's original statement, I don't think he meant it to cause people to look like daft t***s, but just to reflect. However, on the other hand one could think that if you are so inclined.

Problem is that he's made too many mistakes. We all make mistakes, but you learn from them. Unfortunately, he hasn't.

The ones that make the most mistakes get fired and when they keep making them, they are not re-employed as managers and become second rate TV pundits.

Every football manager that I can ever remember at any reasonable level of the game has made mistakes. It is interesting though how the percentage of mistakes is nearly always proportional to available budget. It is easy to get of them right when you have vast budgets. Conversely it's easy to make mistakes when you are working on a shoestring!

In any case, I'm not so sure Jones' with the signings really is that bad so far.

Some failures. Some successes.

I think, given his available spending power, he's done marginally better than what could have been reasonably expected.

It would be just as easy to bump threads where Milan, Jones or Neil for that matter have made statements that when looking back make them look daft.

Thing is they get paid to get more right than wrong we dont, if the signings havent worked its certainly not the fans that end up looking stupid, though we are the ones that live with their consequences.
