Guest
....too much to ask for a club Wednesday's size to be doing better in the championship is it?
Handball_!!
To be honest whenever we start debating size in relation to SWFC it usually just gets a bit embarrassing.
Taff_Owl
Oh for Waddles sake, another shoegazing thread.. Probably, but we are repairing a lot of damage. We nearly didn't exist.
DJMortimer
Isn't that dangerously close to inferring that we are somehow entitled to be higher in the division and that 'lesser' clubs have no right to be doing better than us?
Blueblood
Isn't that dangerously close to inferring that we are somehow entitled to be higher in the division and that 'lesser' clubs have no right to be doing better than us? ThisIt doesn't matter what size we or anyone else thinks our club is. The plain fact is, we've been mismanaged for so many years that it will take a good few years to sort out. We are where we are and we all have to work together to pull it round. You see it everyday on the internet, fans saying "I'm not going until such and such has gone" but then ppl expect Milan to pump millions into the club when ppl aren't willing to put £26 a fortnight into the club (not those who can't afford it)
THE REF
....too much to ask for a club Wednesday's size to be doing better in the championship is it? Try explaining that to the likes of Wigan and Fulham . smaller than the "massive" but happily mixing it in the prem...

I can see your point, us, forest, Leeds all struggling and really should be doing better, suppose I'm going by tradition more than anything

El Wednesday
I think it isn't too much too ask for us fans that spent many years watching us in the top flight or even as strong second division side. Sadly, there's a whole generation of fans who've seen nothing but failure. I'm afraid that they've come to accept mediocrity.

modboy
Try explaining that to the likes of Wigan and Fulham . smaller than the "massive" but happily mixing it in the prem... i would like to see their budgets for the years they were promoted as unfortunately in sport you mainly get what you pay for... you pay peanuts etc etc
Guest zico sterland
Football is all about money now, revenue through tv,shops, sponsorship, gate receipts but most importantley an owner willing to shovel large amounts of cash into the club.Wigan had Whelan and Fulham have Fahid or whatever hes called. We have MM who treats the club as a business but doesnt throw money at it.Untill the new financial rules kick in we will struggle without a reasonable investment on the playing side. tomhollywood
We are a league 1/championship yo-yo side and have been for 13 years. The sooner we accept that fact and get over that we used to be a prem side well over a decade ago, the better it will be for all of us. The feeling of entitlement from some is a bit cringe worthy at times.
