Am I Missing Something?

Recommended Posts

Been away for Christmas. Looking at our last 6 results we have had 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat plus 5 clean sheets. Skim reading some of the posts it reads as if we are still in the midst of 7 defeats on the bounce. Am I missing something?

We've Won 3, drawn 1 and lost 8 out of our last 12 league games and are in the bottom 3. I guess people are a little twitchy.

I can appreciate that mate. Just confused why all the negativity. Guess not seeing the actual games makes it hard for me to be perceptive.

The christmas period was good for us. Sitting through the Burnley game was painful though, but hats off to the fans that sat through MK Dons that must have been evil.

Same old inconsistent Wednesday, nowt has changed much has it

Was there no Internet or 3G where you went.

If so, I wouldn't have booked it in the first place,

Just love my daily fix of Owlstalk !

Lies, damn lies and statistics hey?. Guess I was looking at recent supposed upward trend versus the meltdown on here from some people.

Its a results based business though so realistically youre right with your initial post

Neil I love this site but at times it is hard to keep up with what is real. I always leave feeling as if the glass is half EmptyThem straws I am grasping are still there and I won't let them slip whilst we have all to play for. Could be worse we could be Dingles. They have no manager and appear to be losing players left right and centre.

It's not been quite as bad of late as you'd expect after the wins. Personally I hope that we are turning the corner but am not really confident.

2 home games on the trot, don't think we've created a chance i either!! 33% possesion at home to a L1 club about sums it up

Maybe the pack fears it is losing track of the prey after assuming the feeding frenzy was imminent and inevitable?

Of course I'm being flippant, but I have sometimes been sickened by the vindictiveness and spite of the attacks, like 'I'd rather [insert joke or hate figure of choice - occasionally offensive] was manager than Jones'. The stock answer to criticisms of such posts is that their creator would obviously welcome a turn around of fortunes without a sacking. Naturally they don't want to be seen saying that they didn't want the club to start winning games. But is it true? A sentiment like that expressed surely infers that the act of dismissal is the primary objective that everything else is secondary to.

The other way of deflecting attention is to suggest that those in disagreement are worse because they are happy for us to 'sleepwalk to League 1'™. The suggestion obviously being that theirs is a short term desire for failure with the promise of success in the long run whereas opponents are happy for the misery to be prolonged.

To clarify, this is not to claim that all critics of Jones are like this all of the time or that a lack of confidence is in itself wrong (I have stated many times that Mandaric would have been justified in sacking his manager at many stages), but a disconcerting minority seem to have the scent of blood in their nostrils.

You're not missing anything. The majority on here just love jumping the gun.
