Ross Barklay

Recommended Posts

I bet young Ross has pleaded with him not to send him. I can just imagine the convo. RB, " please boss, don't make me in back there" DM, " but Ross it's very good experience for you" RB, "yeah but they're crap and their fans boo all the time" DM, "alright lad, I'll think about it" lol

I don't think he is what we need just now but I'd wager he'd prefer to be having games with us than sitting it out at Everton at the moment.

Probably true, although (regardless of whether he comes back or not) I'l always remember the speed and eagerness that Barkley got his hands on the ball for the penalty against Bolton a few months ago.

One of his first games at Hillsborough with some very frustrated fans that day...and it says a lot about his confidence and character that he ignored all of that and A) took the penalty and B) scored it.

Made of the right stuff I reckon.

To be fair he had to delete his twitter the other week apparently after getting loads of grief from Everton fans after his ten minute substitute appearance.

Seriously? I agree a striker, and probably a CB, is even more needed.

But a player who is way better than both our CM's at the moment must be of some use?

There are many threads on him and can't be arsed going over it all again.

Yes he has alot of ability but our circumstances mean we need more than a young lad who has not properly learned the game yet. esp in the middle of the park.

His inclusion reduces our team play off the ball. His forward play does not compensate and he ends up playing far too deep.
