@owlstalk
Tell the wingers (Antonio/JJ/Helan etc) that under no circumstances should they cut inside and pass it off or have a shot - and that their sole intention has to be get to the byline and smash a quality cross in That's it Just that No other instructions to complicate itJust tell them that and target them on 6 quality crosses from the byline per game Owlstalk Shop

One of the Sing Boys
tell players to back each others runs up ..........if Antonio makes a run 1/2 players follow him to recieve a simple pass or pick up a loose ball after a tackle, 2 others players to get in the box early for the cross. Rather than leaving the runner isolated and the box empty. Simples Edited January 4, 2013 by zzmdu

One of the Sing Boys
What's the point of our strikers running up front for a cross that never comes ? its never comes because we give the ball to anonio with 4 players to beat and no support, messi would struggle. We need a new manager.
theowlsman
Don't we need wingers who can go past defenders to the byeline, and then cross a ball properly, first? Just saying

One of the Sing Boys
Don't we need wingers who can go past defenders to the byeline, and then cross a ball properly, first? Just saying The way Jones sets us up and the lack of togetherness within the team, we need a winger/forward that can go past 4 defenders. Only Messi and Ronaldo can regulary do that (and they don't have to)

Wednesday_Jack
What's the point of our strikers running up front for a cross that never comes ? The cross never comes because the players we have just arnt performing under the current manager...i am sorry to say and i am not a fan of sacking 'willy nilly' but the current man management and tactics are terrible. Sidibe in front of Madine, COG and Rodri...if that is because DJ thinks he is our best option then there is no hope in football for the other 3!! The 3 sat out must be so low on confidence wathing this clown on the field. I am sorry but there are more problems than just our wingers and IMO it starts with the management!! One of the Sing Boys
WTF ? No we don't You just made that up You do watch a little of the football don't you? We hoof it forward (wihtout commiting any of the oppositions midfield/defense) to Antonio, who has to beat a defence who are all in postion, with no back up. Eventaully the attack fails and if it doesn't, there is no one in the box. Stick to clickin. Innit. Edited January 4, 2013 by zzmdu
@owlstalk
The cross never comes because the players we have just arnt performing under the current manager...i No It never comes because our wingers never cross it - they cut inside and either pass (usually to the opposition) or have a shot (that flies off into the stratosphere or dribbles out for a goal kick) You do watch a little of the football don't you? Great - you're losing the argument so you decide to move to personal attacks Fact is Antonio NEVER has four players to beat to get a cross in - I've never seen that ever... Hardly a personal attack! Drama queen! Are u honestly telling me that you've not seen Helan/Antoni/JJ be hoofed the ball and try and beat every defender in isolation. Burnley attacked in packs. We attack as lone wolves
Wednesday_Jack
What's the point of our strikers running up front for a cross that never comes ? A good striker should always be looking to get in between the penalty spot and the 6 yard box...FACT!! That is how good strikers score goals!! If they make the run 10 times they will get 1/2 chances then its up to them to make it happen!!

We attack as lone wolves The fact they try and beat every defender instead of getting to the byline and slamming a cross in says why though If Antonio tries to beat four players that's because he chooses to He didn't last season - he just legged it to the byline and slammed a cross in A good striker should always be looking to get in between the penalty spot and the 6 yard box...FACT!! That is how good strikers score goals!! If they make the run 10 times they will get 1/2 chances then its up to them to make it happen!! The wingers don't pass to them They don't cross to them They're left isolated with no ball coming... Owlstalk Shop
