Simaniac Owl
Why is he being released? Injury concerns or just not wanted? Would be a great addition if no injury concerns. Edited January 3, 2013 by Simaniac Owl

JoshTheOwl
Would be a great signing, remember him being a big part of WBA's promotion campaign a few years ago. Hopefully Liam_Baggies could give us a bit of an insight as to what's gone on with him these past 2 seasons or so.

Guest wilyfox
Decent player, but far too pricey for us. Released and £4m don't belong together

Liam_Baggies
I for one will be sorry to see him go because he has been without doubt the best player in terms of ability I've seen at the club probably alongside Jason Koumas.I was going to post this topic yesterday but I was purely unsure whether the club would be willing enough to stump up the cash. My understanding of the situation is that the club will be happy for Dorrans to stay but admittedly won't stand in the way of him leaving and I do think his relationship with Steve Clarke has become slightly strained. Whenever Dorrans features he is out of position and is usually dragged off at some point and it's even more baffling when the likes of Brunt and Gera are continuously poor yet still get starts in the side. He was dropped completely on New years day after initially being on the pitch training with the side so I would assume something has gone on there.Off the field his wife and family haven't been able to settle and they have had torrid time. Unfortunately, not long after we were promoted. His Mrs had a miscarriage which certainly affected his form and his state mentally and I don't think he's ever recovered from it. Not long after that, his little girl Eva was then told she had meningitis which again meant his football side of affairs was affected by off the field problems. His wife has mentioned on twitter that she doesn't like Birmingham and I don't blame her to be honest so they probably would fancy a move north of the border to be with their family in Glasgow. He won't join Celtic as he is a born Rangers fan which leaves options such as Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Sunderland or even Rangers when their transfer embargo runs off.We would be looking at £4million but I don't think we'll get that far and end up settling for £2m. He took the Championship by storm in his season with us and I can't describe how good he was. Probably the reason we got promoted was due to him. He has so many facets to his game and in my opinion has the ability to play in the Premier League. I just think he needs a change of scenery to kick start his career again and Mandaric and Jones would be foolish to not look into signing him. Liam_Baggies
Just a heads up for his recent starts and his struggle for form and you'll understand why:Norwich at home - First start in a few games - Dragged off at home time, despite doing a very good job whilst Brunt, Morrison and Gera were much worse.QPR away - Dropped to the bench.Man United away - Starts the game, dragged off in the second half.Fulham home - Dropped completely. When your schedule is like that it is very hard to assemble any type of form. He is a very talented ball player who is very willing to take hold of possession and keep the ball and isn't afraid to do something different. He's got a very good range of passing and his set pieces are usually very good. Some have questioned his attitude lately but I don't see problems with that. He's still the same lad which is willing to get on the ball and take players on. He had a continued run of games towards the end of last season and was very good and at times run the show when we played the likes of QPR and Blackburn. He was also very good against Arsenal in which he scored a fantastic goal. The above video is a video of his time with us in the championship. Maybe a loan, but I'm not sure that'd suit WBA.
