@owlstalk
Dave Jones rued what he called a missed opportunity following the Owls’ home defeat to Burnley on New Year’s Day. Goals from former Wednesday loanee Keith Treacy and Ross Wallace sealed the win for the Clarets, who emerged with a deserved three points from Hillsborough. But Jones looked back on a low-key affair with regret having seen other sides in close proximity with Wednesday drop points. He said: “I see this is a missed opportunity. The frustrating thing is that results elsewhere fell for us and a win today would have seen us right in the pack. “But we just didn’t get going today. It was a slow game from the beginning. We were flat, we were missing a spark and maybe it was one game too many over a short period of time. “The players have worked so hard to get into a position to make that happen, so it’s doubly disappointing. “We now have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and move on. “We will go through it, we will talk about it and analyse where we went wrong. “It’s good maybe that the next game is in the FA Cup because it might give us the chance to give one or two a rest because the games have been coming so thick and fast.†Owlstalk Shop

Mr Farrell
He has a lot of bad days at the office doesn't he. If it's 'flat' Dave, it's your job to lift it. If things aren't working, then change them. You sounded dull, uninspired and de-motivated today. Your team was a reflection of this. Sort it out. It's not true. It's just another comment designed to smear the manager: saying he is dull demotivated and uninspired. Maybe he would prefer a childrens entertainer giving the post match interview? ffs People like this bring the club down.

As regards you saying its not true, really? so in your opinion DJ hasnt made any mistakes this season? mistakes that in my and others opinion see him really lucky to be still in a job. It was DJs game plan to let Burnley have as much of the ball as they wished, waiting untill they were 40 yards from our goal before we made a challenge and HOPED we got LUCKY with a long ball for Antonio to get on to. Not good enough tactics at home im afraid and his inability to change it was there for all to see. Wake up man.

Bluesteel
Mix of a bad day at the office and a formation that perhaps ensured we would be on the back foot on our home turf. Doesn't get the crowd going.

Doesn't get the crowd going. Very true. When we reverted to 4-5-1 for periods of the game to stop Burnley's passing game, the writing was on the wall. We need to attack teams at home to survive - especially against mid table teams like Burnley.

At home to Charlton I was impressed with how we harried their central defenders and generally unsettled them.

We were getting over ran in midfield, so we change it to 4-5-1 to try and get the midfield back. Then the player we had last season who we know is a quality player comes on and wins them the game. The same player that we can't afford coming off their bench. Thats the difference between the 2 teams plus they had one of the championships best Strikers missing. Burnley are a much better side than us.

We don't have a player like treacy who can pull something out of the bag like that. The simple truth won't stop the soul sucking posts on here though. Relentless. Stoop
He tried to put a positive spin on it by saying we've only lost 1 of the last 6, which is wrong we've lost 2 of the last 6 and more worryingly we've lost 4 of our last 5 home league games
