Message For Gary Madine

Guest RAMPANT OTTER83

Problem with Gary is, he has a hell of a lot of potential but he loves the lifestyle to much and thinks he's untouchable but yet keeps getting arrested! Needs to knuckle down and get his head straight before getting any where near the number 9 we fans crave! And Dave jones knows this too.

I'd except o'grady, sidibe and Rodri all gone by February, hopefully been replaced by 2 proven out and out championship goal scorers, 1 of which madine cand learn from

What?

Madine has had chances this season, and he's admitted himself he's not taken them. He was excellent against Charlton, but he then gets another chance against Huddersfield and doesn't deliver, very frustrating.

At least he's had game time, would be nice to see Maguire and Rodri to be given a shot.

REally??....Sidibe running around their back 4 as they passed it about?...running onto headers he won himself?....

We have been playing Antonio for the ball over the top that stops them from pushing up. Bit of pace upfront.

Up unitl today it has been working.

Although personally I think he is looking jaded

Madine (with a partner) starts and with a little run in the side, we start winning. His best game Vs Charlton as he's clearly getting back to fitness and match sharpness.

Then gets dropped and we stop scoring.

Sidibe was woeful and cog ineffective.

451 at home mate....can cope away...at home it shows fear...puts the players on the back foot and p*sses the crowd off

we have a problem with confidence of the manager in the players, that's affected all of this season. We can not play 4-4-2 becasue we are weak in midfield and ship goals.

This is exasperated by our 'wingers' who aren't really wingers, and leave the midfield open. We therefore, end up having 5 in midfield with the wide men pushing forward.

The consequence is inhertia and a ragged target man, who is expected to run the channels and challanged for the inevitable long ball ends up ineffective. Bothroyd suffered this fate until he was switched to our revolving; door wide man position.

I am sure DJ would play 4-4-2 if he had the players and then two quality strikers could take advantage.

Madine's a good player, our wingers are poo poo.

They can't cross a ball. One decent cross in seven attempts isn't good enough.

Rather get shut of either helan or antonio to make room for a good technical winger.

4-4-2.

Madine has been poor most of the season. missing sitters , bossed by centre halves' doesn't,t hold the ball up, offers little movement. But always seems to be the answer amongst his fan boys. quite simply not good enough yet at this level.

Their back 4...WALKED the ball to the halfway line...with just Sidibe trotting between them!!!...442s not simply about attacking...Antonio played just in front...mostly in midfield...everyone back at corners...Grant was playing better passes from his net than our midfield were...simply because there was no bugger near him...We lost the ball from rash clearances from Lliera...hoofs upfield from Kirkland...because if the ball did not actually hit Sidibe in the knackers...it came straight back...because we had no-one else  there...

this is closer to the truth.

No point berating jones about picking between a bad bunch.

He needs better options up front.

It was obviously our weak point but madine wouldn't have improved it.

Who signed Maguire, Bothroyd, Rodri and Sidibe?  And if Cog and Madine really aren't up to this level of football, why weren't they sold in the summer?  Yes it's easy in hindsight but you can't blame folk who want a bit of a moan after a bad performance.

So just all ignoring his dire performance against Huddersfield?

I like Madine but he didn't merit a start today.

Bit of a weak argument basing his season on one game. Its a bit like Lewis Buxton getting torn apart time and time again today, shall we drop him the next game? No, because he has been one of the consistant performers all season

Every time Madine has put in a good performance, and or scored, he has been dropped for the next game. Hows that for confidence building? Must be a great feeling going from playing well and scoring to being subbed for the next game, especially when the alternatives dont seem to be pulling up too many trees themselves.

When people post any old nonsense and use the loss to justify getting their  'jones out' bandwagon back on the road I can.

I'm not basing it on one game, he's been poor in most of the games he's started this season and when he's come off the bench. He's admitted he's not been good enough himself. Charlton and Bristol are the only games I've been impressed with Madine.
