Beholder
Great performance from the lads today. Without the ball we were organised and hunted in packs, working for eachother, pressing and battling. With the ball we played it long quite often which was fine as Antonio and sidebe were pretty decent outlets. The BIG thing that made me happy though was the partnerships on either flank. Reminiscent of Worthy/ king but on both sides. Lee was the standout player. Really comfortable on the ball- a quality footballer. He should keep that position now for me. On the onther side, Helan and Reda played together and were never too far away from eachother. Helping eachother out. Helan is fast as flip and was a great outlet. Prutton was excellent in the middle. Mccabe was faily quiet. Overall we look a different proposition alltogether. Deserved the win- easily the stronger team- they offered very little but we beat em all over the pitch- that is why. Great that Jones turned it round. My one negative- the numptys in the corner singing megson's name. Come on- which one of you cultists was it? Deary me. jammyb87
Good to hear. I'd imagine the Megson chants were aimed more towards the bolton fans?
senwar
We had a shaky start but just free as the game went on. Very impressed today. Agree re the flanks except for reda being a bit rash at times. Thought lee was quality. I 'think' the megson chants were at the Bolton fans to wind them up and they did bite. Bit daft tho. Overall, a very positive day. Bloody love winning on Boxing Day.

Bez
Dave Jones' tactics to win were spot on! Stopped Bolton getting out wide and then we won the battle in the middle of the park. Sidibe as a target man and Antonio with pace really worked well to get us at them. Kirkland 9 - Commanding and solid Buxton 8 - Best game for a while and great cross Llera 7 - Solid Gardner 9 - Awesome and solid Reda 7 - His usual self, good but sometimes caught out by pace Lee 10 - What a game for him, very very good Helan 9 - Good player and developing too. Great game. Prutton 10 - Desire to win was incredible, busted a gut to get back and cover, he dominated and won the game for us. McCabe 7 - Not a bad game but quiet and did what he needed to. Antonio 8 - The out ball and a threat Sidibe 8 - Good flick on play and a great goal Subs: O'Grady 6 JJ 7 Mattock 7 Team effort was so good, the fight in our team is amazing. Great tactics and great support

Funny thing is Mark Smith who is generally very good on player had McCabe down as MOM Yet scores average on here.

Guest Johnbloodaxe
Is it the influence of the new coach too?
Beholder
Is it the influence of the new coach too? too quick. He may have an influence but he was only there a day or two before sat and the performances were looking better before that aswell. Jones has been unlucky. As he has said we should be 8 points or so further up the table but for some awful ref decisions.
