We need activity early January - but we probably won't get it until the end. Clubs tend not to let players move on until replacements are lined up, and that takes time.

As if he's gonna come out and tell us what's going off- he's never discussed transfers before, so why now? Furthermore, why alert other teams? and what sort of message would it give out to an already struggling team?

We have not had a really productive transfer window for a long time.

We had the "Irvine January" , then the "Le Fondre August" , the "Marshall Jan" and finally the "Shambolic August" we have just been through. The problem is that we might have been trying to do it on the cheap we have wasted a lot of money and ended up with problems rather than assets.

In a way this might be last chance saloon for Milan. If we don't get 2/3 key players to immediately strengthen the first 11 then we could end up being relegated and Milans business plan will be out of the window.

However it is always difficult to pick decent players up in January and while I do think that MM/PA/DJ do realise the urgency of the position we are in it is going to be very difficult, whether through loans or signings, to get the right players to put it right.

Wouldn't read too much into anything from The Star, I'm guessing he's keeping his cards close to his chest. But lets not kid ourselves, we wont be spending a huge sum of money this January. But if DJ sees a player he thinks is going to be amazing then I think Milan will definitely dig a bit deeper as he did with Antonio.

Then went on to say no clubs would be doing any deals yet because the Window isn't open and it's a busy time of year...

Or do you mean some players have agreements with clubs to go on loan when the window opens? Those deals might have been done at the start of the season due to various factors meaning the move couldn't happen immediately - we don't know anything yet still manage to make a big shitty stick to beat the manager with

A done deal is a player on loan and there is an agreement to buy him at the end of the loan spell. As in Mark Beevers, but it might not have necessarily have been publicly broadcast.

A couple of things from this mornings Sheffield Star that dont exactly fill me with confidence that anything will be any different (Quality wise) when this window opens to the last ones, plenty of Words, but not much WORTH WHILE action, and as usual being left with the dregs as the window closes as per.

Also seems to back up reports from the forum the other week, where PA stated, that dispite the fact that the window would be opening in a few weeks, we had no transfer targets in mind, see what you make of them, as im sure other will disagree.

The manager has drawn up a list of Targets, and made one inquiry yesterday, only to find that the player had ALL READY DONE A DEAL with another club for January..

Jones and Mandaric have also discussed Sidebe and Helan, who's loans run out after tomorrows game, and Bothroyd who's runs out on Jan 2nd.

Its not yet known whether any signings would be LOANS or full deals, "YOU SEE WHATS ABOUT" he said.
