He said: “I haven’t become a bad manager overnight. It’s as if someone has flipped me upside down because I’m normally at the top, not the bottom.

“I have walked into clubs like this before. I went to Stockport, Wolves, Cardiff when they were in this situation, and I turned it around.

“Sometimes it takes a bit longer than you think.

“This club has had 12 managers in 15 years, so it tells you that is not the answer.

“Somewhere along the line you have to give someone time to put it right.

“There’s a lot of hurt going on around here and you’ve got to change a lot of things.”

- I wonder if he was using this argument as he was putting pen to paper to take Megson's job?

And in today's episode of forensically poring over the manager's comments in our desperate clamour to demonstrate that absolutely every word he has ever spoken, every thought he has ever had and every action he has undertaken are incompetent, evil, stupid, wrong and arrogant...

Yawn,,,

More spam, Heppers. At least this time you're not misquoting, as far as I know.

But are you seriously suggesting that on being told X was sacked / is about to be sacked, then the incoming candidate should turn down the job and walk away.

Fans would be dead happy then wouldn't they.

Why are you always so extreme? Your assumptions are always so black or white. Quite bizaar for someone who is eloquent and obviously well educated.

Why is it spam? I have quoted what he has said and merely suggested that perhaps Megson also deserved some more time.

I am not a Jones hater and given the alternatives actually don't think he should be pushed. I have been calling for stability for a long time.

As for misquoting, I am not sure why you are badgering me.

I think he was suggesting DJ is a self serving hypocrite.

It's verging on spam because you seem to come up with a different set the same set of quotes every day and try and make an issue of them.

I don't think you have misquoted here but you've creatively added to other quotes in other posts...

But here you're making a nonsensical point about him taking the job.

But most of all, is what he says in post match interviews that important. Rather than hanging him on every word then its the results and how succesful we are being or might be that is most important. That is what he should be judged on.

When will our fans realise that the reason Megson went was in part due to a clash of personality's/ego's. If Megson had had the same working relationship with MM as Jones has, he'd have possibly stayed in his job longer. Instead, he chose to publicly question the chairman so as to cast himself in a more favourable light. Some may say he was talking the truth, I'd say he was foolish.

That said, although we all have our opinions, arguments, beliefs, delusions, agendas, etc. The one thing that we are not privy to (although some believe they are) is what's going on in the inside. Who's to say that there wasn't issues within the camp under Megson which aren't apparent under Jones- who knows?!?

One things for certain, the choice to get rid of Megson and bring in Jones was vindicated when we won automatic promotion. Some fans were complaining about Milan's decisions then

-despite his call for trust. Yet again he has asked us to trust him with this one, and I for one will be given our chairman just that.

It's time to stick together guys, not fall apart.

UTO.

When have I posted the same quotes? This is from the Sheffield Star.

It is what he has said, was worthy of the local paper publishing it so I thought it might be of interest to members of this forum.

I have not judged him but you saying he should be judged on results rather than what he says is not the strongest defence I have heard.

I do agree with you. Milan and DJ have earned their chance.

Hmm. Those quotes look strnagely familiar...

Anyway, I didn't set out to defend him. I'm saying if he's going to be judged let's judge him on what matters, not piffle.

Hmm. Well have a look at the bottom of this article and then you can crawl into bed safe in the knowledge you are wrong.

His comments mean something or he wouldn't make them. He makes them because he wants people to look/listen at/to them. He is being judged as manager of this team. Don't exaggerate - it undermines your point. It's not every word, thought, action he has ever made/had - it's his words and actions as manager this season. How is he to be judged in this job if it's not by results, actions and words? This season in everyone one of the former he has failed.

At the moment he is building nothing and lurching from one terrible run to another, seemingly clueless as to what to do about it. Whatever happens his time at SWFC should be up.

I wonder what comments Megson was making as he did the exact same thing to Irvine as Dave Jones would later do to him...

but djm is right, it's evident looking up and down the forums there are plenty of people pouncing and analysing Jones' every comment.
