W H I T E Y
I said last week, that banter aside I'd post a reasonable thread, so here it is. A bit of an insight into the players that are likely to play on Saturday, in a winning team... . LUKE STEELE Possibly the best keeper in the division, the best keeper in my 25 years watching BFC. World-class shot-stopper, has an amazing reach on him and expert penalty saver. Newly installed captain, and valued so much at Oakwell that despite the lad saying how much he wants to stay and loves the club, the club are yet to sit down and discuss a new contract. Poor kicking, and not great command of his area are the weaknesses that make him top class at this level but perhaps not Prem standard. He'll definitely start the game. . JOHN STONES 18 Year old RB, Academy graduate, Tarn born, and now England U19 regular. Quick, tall and technically sound, he looks a centre half to me. Started the season in style, and had the scouts of Man City and Chelsea down Grove Street. Form dipped a month ago, mistakes crept in, but made a decent return at Leicester. I expect him to leave in January. . MARTIN CRANIE Looked the part in midfield, but when played in his natural position of defence he's looked hit and miss. Still early days to judge him too much, but I wouldn't pick him. . SCOTT WISEMAN Up there with the worst defenders I have ever seen at Oakwell. Quite quick, but lacks everything needed to be a defender. Supposed to be a RB but his former Rochdale mentor has picked him at centre half this year and he is an accident waiting to happen. I don't know of any BFC fan who rates him. He'll definitely start the game. Unreal. . SCOTT GOLBOURNE Quality LB, with decent pace, and can defend. Not the tallest, but a dependable player who is underrated IMO. . DAVID PERKINS The best player of his type in England. A terrier, a workaholic, and never gives the ball away. So happy he's back in time for this game. Perfect game for him. He'll kill you. . STEPHEN DAWSON Similar to Perks, but without the passing. Better going forward, Mad Dog loves a 50/50 challenge, and has 6 lungs. Become a key player this year. . AKOS BUZSAKY Gifted, tries to create or shoot at any opportunity. Set piece expert. Not great defensively. . JON GREENING Average so far IMO. Just makes simple passes and little else. Again, bit early to write off, but hoped for more tbh. . JIM O'BRIEN A winger that is as good at defending as attacking. 100% player, with great ball control and a cross on him. . REUBEN NOBLE-LAZARUS Still the youngest player to play league football, and now at 19 he's coming of age, as was shown with that amazing goal last weekend. Exceptional talent, when given a game. . MARCUS TUDGAY You know him. . CRAIG DAVIES Big, strong with deceptive pace, and can score from anywhere. Hold up play has improved, but still lets him down. Also tends to have purple patches, then barren runs. Off in January no doubt. . Others may play, but they are the likely lads.

W H I T E Y
The team I expect Hill to pick would be unchanged from Saturday. . Steele Stones Cranie Wiseman Golbourne Dawson Greening Buzsaky O'Brien Davies Noble-Lazarus . In a 4-2-3-1. . I would play Bobby Hassell and Stephen Foster at centre half instead of Cranie and Wiseman. I'd pick Perkins over Greening, drop Buzsaky and start Tudgay with Davies in a 4-4-feckin-2. Bluesteel
I read the first two lines about the keeper and knew the rest wasnt really worth reading Decent yes, world class shot stopper, no. Gave it a bit longer and then I saw your assessment of Perkins.... We have faced him before you know. TrickyTrev
It's going to be a tough game for us make no mistake about it, but then I don't think you'll find it as easy as some of your fans seem to think. Is our luck about to change? I hope so but I won't hold my breath. I'll be honest, I think we missed a trick not nipping in and getting Buzsaky on loan before you did as I think he's a decent player. Indeed the loan players you've bought in seem to have strengthened your side but what do you see happening in January? Are you expecting them to leave or is there a realistic chance of you keeping hold of any of them? Anyway back to the game, I'm hoping for us to FINALLY put this abysmal run behind us, we're defianetly due a win but then I said that before the Bristol match. One things for sure, I don't think a draw does either of us any favours so hopefully we'll see a good regional derby with two sides going for it. May the best team on the day win. NeonLeon
Some of them comments, about Perkins and Steele in particular, are up there with the "20million pound defence" ones that used to get spouted around here. Stones sounds like another Spurr or Beevers type. All the scouts in the world will watch him and every transfer window he'll be leaving. The reality is he'll stay for 3 years, his inconsistencys will never leave and he'll go to a divisional rival for 200k. W H I T E Y
God I hope Perkins plays. I guarantee that if he does you lot after the game say "the lad with the blonde hair ran the show, exactly what we need" . And whilst I may have over-egged some of them, the majority of em haven't featured much, and not at all in one game. Like I say, Wiseman is utter gash, Greening is poor, Cranie not so good, and Buzsaky is a luxury. But Steele, Stones, Golbourne, Perkins, Dawson, RNL, O'Brien, Davies and Tudgay would walk into your team... This thread is reasonable, and as serious as the word 'insouciant'
Guest beatleowl
Thanks for that but in total honesty not one of us actually gives the slightest throw about your ridiculous analysis of your bottom three side. Now run along and play with your sister or whatever it is you do in your spare time.
Bluesteel
Perkins is that albino who played against us for Colchester. He reminded me of a younger and more composed version of JOC.

W H I T E Y
Bottom three, for the first time in 3 years. In your last 3 years at this level you lot haven't needed NOT to look any higher. I would post the great smileys you have to make my sarcasm come across better but they aren't working on my phone. . It's a bit of fun, banter, and it's got us talking about the game. Result. Speaking of which, what do you reckon?? Do you fancy a Wednesday victory? I think we'll either destroy you or be destroyed. We have only been awful in about 3 or 4 games. But IMO our manager is failing to get the best out of some quality laikers. So am never sure how we'll fare.
